Cover not as good as it used to be?

Post by GottaLove88s »

Hey guys,

Did you tweak the effects of cover in BA v2.11? I've noticed that when I run between blocking trees without ever stepping out into the open, enemy infantry (regulars, not scouts) can almost always see me... Before, they hardly ever could, so long as I stayed in the forest...

And it thought it was just me ;)
I just experienced that an enemy tank shot at one of my halftracks though there was a forrest that should have blocked sight. I also had a PzII beeing attack by enemy infantry from the edge of a forrest. After the attack the infantry moved deeper into the forrest, until it was surrounded by forrest tiles. But the PzII still could shoot at them in next turn :?

Greetings...

Which map are you playing DK? Can you post a screenshot? It sounds like your scenario is missing a blocking tree...

As I said the map was Town Fight.
Screen one was made just after the occurrence:
The Somua now standing in the upper right shot at my Panzers through the forest though it should had blocked LOS

This screenshot was taken a few turns after the occurrence:
The French infantry killed my PzIV in close combat. Next to the killed Pz IV stood a Pz III (green cross). The infantry moved deeper into forest (red cross) but nevertheless my Pz III could still aim them in my next turn, though they where sourrounded by forest tiles.

Missjundgeing LOS in BA is a huge problem for me and very frustrating from time to time.
So I suggest think about what veritas wrote here: viewtopic.php?f=224&t=38087&p=393265#p393265

Hey DK, if you run your cursor over the square that the somua shot through, does it show "open ground" or "forest"? If it's forest, it's missing a "blocking tree". But, just looking at it, it looks like it might be a "bush" on open ground, rather than an actual forest with trees. If it's just a bush, the Somua is allowed to shoot.

However, you're absolutely right that your PzIII should not have been able to shoot through the forest square between the green and red X. That square is almost certainly missing a "blocking tree". Tell Pip.
