Manchester is a two hour drive for me, but I would definitely show up for tournaments or big scenarios and game days.

Well, we're talking preliminary (depending on interest) about doing a May 10th FoG tournament in 15mm at the Time Machine. Interested?

Us Birmingham Bunnies are playing and are interested. I have preordered the rules plus the high medieval list. Just waiting now for the King Arthur/Dark Ages list...

Maybe! I still have to get the rules, look them over, and see if I want to invest.

In Chicago we have 2 right now, Jim Hauber and myself, but we will probably have more when the books hit the shelves. There seems to be eager interest at the local shop, so hopefully there will be more soon.

FoG NICT

Post by Scrumpy »

Will it be possible to organize a FoG NICT tournament for 2009 to run on a different day to the dbm version ?

Or maybe even run a FoG NICT at either Cold Wars or Fall In ?

Cheers

Certainly it will be possible; even likely. The real issue will be the speed at which FoG is taken up. We need to have a critical mass of players before there can reasonably be a NICT. OTOH, if the Amazon sales rank mentioned elsewhere in these fora is anything to go by that will not be an issue for long. I think that the size of the FoG events at Historicon will be a significant indicator of whether we will see a NICT sooner rather than later.

Yeah, I am hoping to stage some 400 AP mini FoG tournaments, ( more mists I suppose ? ) in Northern Virginia for those who want to take part in them.

Mini-Fog

Post by Scrumpy »

I have booked some tables at Game Parlor Chantilly for Sunday April 27th to have a 400 AP FoG tourney.

Starts at 10 for 10.30, when we will have 3 games each of 2 hours with a half hour break between the games.

Usual halving of minima & maxima from the army lists, and generals will cost half ( rounded up ) their usual cost.

Marc- i wonder if this year at Historicon we should have one being the DBM NICT (Friday), and the next day the FoG Open (Saturday), and finals in eac on Sunday? Of course that makes for a long trip back if any bunny makes the finals on Sunday (been there- done that!).

An interesting idea. A lot depends on how the participation rates work out. I am assuming that there will be enough interest in both FoG and DBM for concurrent events, but that remains to be seem. I think that pattern would be my personal favorite outcome, as I enjoy playing both games. We will need to have a lot of discussion, both here, and--especially--on the DBM list to decide what events to offer, and on what schedule.

I plan to bring the topic up after we see how Cold Wars shakes out.
