Thanks for the heads up, iProp! Post the flags and KIAs whenever you can. Who won the map?

CaveHobbit, Pls would you update our OOB and Strat Map? I'll create our June 10th PM battle maps from your update, aiming to get us all restarted for the weekend...

Players/Commanders, The GJS'44 Tourney mods we've voted on will go live in the GJS'44 Campaign from June 10th PM. I'll add the balancing engineers now too...

Really glad Mowby is back. Is he ok? Hope you're alright Brian. We missed you mate!!! :D

Thanks P-A, Busy at work tomorrow, but hope to crash out the June 10th PM maps over the weekend...
For anyone commanding the games in Caen or Pegasus, strongly recommend you download latest (v1.41) version of the GJS'44 Tourney to get some battle practice...
Have fun!

Here are the losses. https://www.dropbox.com/s/bz6ed78wy2wjv ... 9%2001.png

The file was to big to attach

.Since mowby surrendered I can't take a snap of the flags, but he kept the one he started with and I held the remainder.

Thanks iProp, can u remember what the actual units were?
If not, I'll guesstimate from your and mowby's forum comments.
(Battles end at turn 3 so it's possible to get a KIA screen)

no worries, i'll guesstimate from forum comments... congrats on the win!
allies needed this one to resupply caen, so you've created a lifeline for your team mates.
they'll need a kick ass general to hold out vs two ss brigades in caen...

BATTLE RESULTS - JUNE 10th AM

Bieville - Col JonCorcuera 1/79 [MRS] AFD v Lt Col Honour Ost 642/716 [ARPS]

1/79 elite Allied armour overwhelms the "old men and young boys" of Ost 642/716 volksgrenadier brigade, scattered around the woods and grasses of Biéville plain

1/79: 6 KIAs = 2x Eng, 1x Roo, 1x M5, 1x Sherman, 1x Firefly
Ost 642/716: 24 KIAS = 3x VG, 3x Inf, 2x Eng, 3x HMG, 2x Scout, 1x PzS, 2x Mortar, 3x 75Pak40, 3x Truck, 1x 251/1, 1x Puma

1/79 takes Bieville
Ost 642/716 did not win any VP flags and has nowhere to withdraw to, so it was dissolved (+10% loss penalties, rounded up)
Congratulations both. One heck of a victory for the Allies, while the decimated Germans still managed to knock out some capital units...

Pegasus Bridge - Maj CoreySr 30/79 [ATMRS] attack/no move AFD v Lt Gen Mlazar 914/352 [FwPS]

30/79 elite Allied armour was repelled by strong defensive positions of 914/352 infantry regulars

30/79: 5 KIAs = 1x M5, 1x Firefly, 3x Croc
914/352: 2 KIAS = 1x Pak40, 1x 251/1

30/79 holds in Benouville and will face an ASD attack from 858/346, approaching from Ouistreham
914/352 holds Pegasus and will face an AFD from 9/3cdn (the Allies starting with the Crossroads and Pegasus Bridge flags that they won)

Cristot - Lt Col Honour II/12/12SS [MRPS] ASD v Capt MKboy 231/50

Cunning interception by SS heavy panzer brigade II/12/12SS blocks fast moving mechanised 231/50's rush to surround Carpiquet, annihilating a late charge across the Bessin bridges.

II/12/12SS: an astonishing zero KIAs!
231/50: 16 KIAS = 1x Inf, 2x Eng, 2x PIAT, 1x 17pdr, 4x Bren, 1x M16AA, 2x M10, 3x Sherman

II/12/12SS holds in Cristot
231/50 has no adjacent, friendly sector to withdraw to and is dissolved

Hermanville - Lt Col Mowby 192/21 [APS] ASD v Lt Col iProp 27/3 [MRS]

A loooooong slog in the hedgerow... Germans inflicted heavier losses, but Allies won the day... earning 22/7 the right to breakout towards Caen...

Allies lost 3 infantry, 7 armour... Germans lost 3 infantry, 2 armour, 2 halftracks
Actual KIAs have been estimated from known summary and both side's forum comments...
192/21: 7 KIAs = 1x scout, 1x inf, 1x hmg, 2x 251, 1x stug, 1x marder
27/3: 10 KIAs = 2x inf, 1x mortar, 2x M5s, 2x Brens, 2x Cromwell, 1x Sherman

27/3 holds Hermanville
192/21 withdraws to Bretteville

So June 10th PM brings serious skirmishes between the Generals...

Allies have nowhere to withdraw to, if they lose Abbaye or Caen...

Meanwhile, Caen looks to be the key battle of the afternoon. Can the reinforced Allied para BG hold onto its hard won +1 movement advantage versus a determined SS assault... As yet, commanders unconfirmed for this critical combat???

P-A, Using your latest published OOB, I've re-balanced engineers for both sides by adding +7 German engineers (to preserve the current 1:1.26 force ratio, for the turn that we're adding in 'real engineers')

Consequently, pls convert 1 infantry -> 1 engineer for the following BGs
901/Lehr
902/Lehr
I/6/Lehr
II/130/Lehr
I/3/2Pz
PzAufk2/2Pz
101SPzAbt/IPzK
(none of these BGs are in action during June 10th)

I'm planning to give Honour79 command of Ost 411/716 and Morge4 26/12SS to spread out the battles among 'my' commanders. I've not discussed this with the involved commanders, but I sure it won't be a problem.

Will make the changes in the OOB this afternoon.

Thanks P-A. Noted and updated above.

I assume the S.A.C. himself may take control over the Allied forces in Caen, for the same reasons...?

As you say, looks like June 10th AM was merely the aperitif... ;-)

Just to give you all a heads up...

I'd hoped to push out our new maps this morning... but updating the old GJS'44 Campaign to the latest Tourney version, with all of our voted-on bells and whistles, plus better integration with BA v2.11 seems to have resulted in a rash of Arnhem Bridges... Apparently, this happens when something changes to an object that was used on the previous map... Sitting here now, I can't figure out a better repair than deleting all of the new Arnhem Bridges (which also deletes the underlying objects) and redrawing the missing map... Realistically will be out late Sat or early Sun... Sorry to ask you to bear with me

Yes, we have... my bad...

Don't worry Michael, P-A has that correct on the OOB... I'd just done a text cut and paste from all the battle summaries above, so folks could catch up on progress, after the long Hermanville break (shouldn't have bothered as it just causes extra problems, lol  )

Corrected above now...
