Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
To complete the post above, I include here the base icons and masks for the Bf-109E, and also for the pre-war variants of this fighter, the Bf-109C and/or Bf-109D. Technically, this icon represents a Bf-109C, with its deeper radiator intake, but I think it could be used to represent all pre-war variants (Bf-109C and D models were used in the Spanish Civil War, and in second file roles at the World War early stages).

My pleasure Bob... besides, I am learning a lot about Paint.Net!
Now, I would really like to be able to tame GIMP!
One way or another, I will do my best for as long as I can!

Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
Back to the old AA vehicles... I saw there was an icon for the Flak Panzer T-34(r), it was made with a Wirbelwind turret... It is a possible combination, some unit may have made this as a field conversion. There was also another version, about I found some good images to try to make it into a PzCorps icon. I attach a .rar file with the base icons and masks for the AA and direct fire versions. I hope you like it.
PS: I will upload the complete icon pack in the next post...

Ok, here is the complete icon pack for the FlakPz T-34(r). You will find the icons for the AA and direct fire versions with the following schemes: Standard german grey, desert plain color, SE (or Elite) desert camo, SS camo and SE camo (those last two for the Elite units mod). Enjoy!

Indeed it was, specially for the enemy infantry, if used in the ground fire mode...
I hope you like it, and give it some use!
Nico: The severe sleep deprivation state I am currently in is because of the LoV test run...
I am now fighting El Alamein second battle, very nice!!!!. The north African scenarios are wonderful battles inside a most wonderful campaign... By the way, when one goes o Africa, the possibilty to upgrade the SE units received in Europe (mostly infantry) and/or its transport vahicles is lost (this, I think because thos units are marked "for Europe theater only" in the eqp file, and you carry your Char B1 and KV-1B gift units (i sure kept one each of them!) to the desert with their grey color scheme... It seems we would have to add the desert colred icons to the desert folder in the Graphics/units directory... I did it, but it did not work, I think it is necessary to start the campaign from the beginning for such a change to make effect... May be you would take note of those small details for the release of the campaign...
This is also the reason of the decrease in the icon output from the Guille workshop... By the way, I am about to release a Bf-110 pack with a SE variant... Bob, take note!
My first experience in North Africa with minefield type units... I think their effects and in-game mechanics should be polished (or improved) a little... Not that you or any of us can do anything about, but, game developers, please take note! I dont like very much that the minefield ALWAYS inflict one point of damage to any unit trying to clear the mines (except artillery, of course). Sometimes it has to be a little more, and when infantry clears them, sometimes should be able to do it without losses. On the other hand, tanks or other vehicles running into them (being "ambushed" by mines) should have normally higher losses than 1 point... Just a thought... May be sometime in future the eqp file should be expanded adding stats for mine defense to land units, making possible to differentiate this value from the "normal" GD value... This would reflect the fact that the most heavily armored vehicles are not always the most mine resistant ones. For example a mine cleaning vehicle should be very "mine resistant" (high "mine defense" value) but may be it is not so well armored against gun attack by other units (not so high GD value)...

No problem, Bob, take your time...
Meanwhile, I took the very good icon of the Panzer 35(t), made by ThvN, I believe, and tweaked it a little:
- Added German insignia
- Detailed the running gear a little
- Made some skin variants: SE Elite Units Mod splotched green scheme and desert colour.
- Mask and base Icon for DCS included

Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
Another artillery unit got the "multipurpose treatment": In this case, the French 105 mm mle 1913...
- Made the basic French color scheme icon conversion to the direct fire version.
- Skinned both versions in Axis_French regular and desert color scheme, and also in the Frenchies unit pack bluish scheme.
- Base icon and mask for DCS software included.
Enjoy!

Nice work! For those interested, the Panzer 35(t) also comes with a big unit icon: viewtopic.php?f=147&t=36536&start=160#p363627
Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
Indeed, nice work on that Pz35. I made one as my first unit, but it was more for testing and not that sophisticated

Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
The hard work on this one was made by ThvN, I just added somthing here and there... Thanks anyway!
And going on with the aircraft series, now I upload a Bf-110 pack, the files are named as B-110C models, but thay can be used for all the others versions present in the game (Bf-110D, F, G) as they looked externally very similar (the main cahnges in the different sub models were made in the engine type). So, here are the pack with, more or less, the following:
- Fighter version and its SE counterpart.
- Fighter-bomber version, and SE.
- Another variant with bluish camo scheme, and also its SE version.
- Desert and SE Desert camo scheme versions
- Base Icon and Mask for DCS software in separate .rar file.
In total: Eight icons, plus the base icon and mask!
This one was made using the parts I liked most from Bebro's superb work and the stock game icon.
Free for all to use. Have fun!

I "created" a new icon for the Saharan Infantry, which was curently sharing the icon of the Italian Infantry... Now, when you switch the Sahariana recon to Infantry, you can readily teel it apart from other italian infantry units (or, infantry units in general)... Enjoy!

The French 105mm Mle.1913, was also used by the Italians, who named it Cannone da 105/28. Here is the icon, I modded it a little (changed its wheels to an italian model) and made the direct fire version. Base Icon and mask for DCS included.

Another Italian artillery unit, which was not present in the vanilla game, the Obice da 100/17 Modello 14. It was very much used in North Africa against the English forces, specially in the early battles in the desert. As the Italian infantry was not capable of fight effectively against british tanks, those guns were used as anti-tank weapons.
Included direct fire, artillery variants and base icon / mask for DCS.
Enjoy!

Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
The Obice da 100/17 Modello 16 was another artillery piece which was obtained by the Italians after World War I, this model was manufactured by Skoda as the Modello 14, but was a mountain gun, which used a lighter carriage, and was used by other countries also (Romania, amogst them, so I used the Romanian icon as a base). So, based on an icon from a Rumanian unit pack I downloaded here, you can obtain:
- The direct fire version of the rumanian unit.
- The Italian unit, in direct fire, and artillery variants.
- Base Icon and Mask for the DCS.
Best regards to all...

Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and m
The Kradschutzen unit got the multipurpose treatment...
Here is the icon set for a different concept in the use of this unit in game. Taking as example the saharan infantry or LRDG inf which are switchable infantry - or - vehicle units, I think this would be a more accurate way to represent the tactical use of Kradschutze units...
The modes for this unit would be:
- Motorcycle mounted unit (basically a vehicle, which can be classed as recon, if you wish to give recon move, but I think it would make the unit too much powerful, or as tank): very high movement and good attack against soft targets (infantry, artillery...) In this stance, its Hard attack value will not be matched against the close defense value of tanks in close terrain (because it is not classed as an infantry unit). This unit will not appear in the purchase menu with the other tanks because it would not have the primary trait in the eqp file.
- Infantry unit: Troops dismounted from their bikes (classed as infantry) will fight against tanks in close terrain against their close defense value, and will entrench in suitable terrain. This would be "primary" so, it will be the unit visible in the purchase menu.
- Anti-aircraft: will defend itself and adyacent units against air attacks. Range = 1, soft attack and hard attack values negative (cannot attack surface units in this state, but will defend itself if attacked), movement = 0, maybe its ground defense value could be improved a little.
I include the whole icon pack, with the following:
- Standard grey coloured scheme
- SE green camo (using the excellent camo schemes released by Anfield).
- Desert camo
- SE desert camo (this units camuflaged their motorbikes with desert colors, and got desert colored helmet covers, but they proudly wear the green european camo!) Thanks Anfield!
- SS camo scheme (again, used Anfield figures as a base.
You get a Motorcicle riding troop icon, a dismounted troop icon and an anti-aircraft for each of the five color schemes listed... Fifteen icons in total.
Fell free to use and or test!
