Re: Challenges and results – Medieval, season 10
Division C Greetings 44 Wallachians 47/43 Supervark Medieval Cypriot 38/48.
A very tough fight the Wallachians set up there infantry and archers on a large hill and on the right. With their cavalry on the extreme right. Luckily the Cypriots out flanked them on their left and climbed up the hill with Knights and cavalry defeating the archers and infantry there. The Cypriot infantry did an excellent job of masking the the Wallachian cav taking very heavy casualties while doing so. Touch and go the whole game and a had some very lucky dice roles.
Cheers Greetings thanks for an excellent game.

Division C
Londo (Anglo-Irish Later) 6/45 vs Okie (Khwarazmian 1156-1246 AD) 27/25
There were two things going against Okie in this game:
1) I picked the terrain, which was awful for a pure cavalry army like his -- probably the worst map imaginable. Hills with scrub, ditches and broken ground everywhere -- wonderful for longbowmen but a nightmare for cavalry.
2) The unpronounceable name of his nation, which resulted in a -2 modifier on all cohesion tests (not many people are aware of this rule).
My thanks to Okie for playing this out quickly, even though I'm sure it wasn't great fun.

Div. C
voskarp (WotR Richard III) [17/40] vs kilroy (Komnenan Byzantine, later) [42/39]
Beginning with a lot of arrows flying in both directions, which favored the Byzantines. But the English dismounted knights closed in and won the melee.
Great game!

Div Bee
caiko Ordonnance French (early) 1455 – 1465 AD 46/44
claymore Swiss 1400 – 1424 AD 11/42 win
The big cheesies had their first win after the previous non-event. They are feeling so happy that their pikes have "wood"
Despite the French jumping on the only rough hill on the map, there did not have much luck. Knights continually rushed off into the pikes, while the archers had limited impact before the Swiss closed with them.
Cheers, Claymore

Re: Challenges and results – Medieval, season 10
There appears to be a formula problem with the division B results sheet. I'll look at it tonight after work and see if I can fix it. Please hold off on entering results until I have a chance to square this away.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Challenges and results – Medieval, season 10
Insignificant pc games - the bottom line, the fear of losing takes over the possibility of winning.
As for ANZAC day and for all those who fought and died, I do not think anybody could ever put into words how to express the gratitude to those who fought and lost their lives, for freedom.
I hope we will never forget.

Greetings44 (Wallachians) 39/43 vs Okie (Khwarazmians) 25/25
Some end of game heroics by a MF bow fending off two cavalry units allowed me to sneak past the winning post.
