Can amphibs bounce like boats?

Post by GottaLove88s »

BA shows "boat" category units gently bouncing up and down in water tiles...
Is there a switch that will permit "amphibious" units to bounce up and down the same way (but only on water tiles)?

My guess is that this is simply their wait animation. There isn't currently any way to alter animations based on whether units are on water or not.

why couldn't he call a function during ticks to get and set attribute of that unit? Call it a boat when its over a water tile, call it a tank when its over a land tile.

The animations are tied to the asset itself, and so isn't something which can be changed.

Thanks Pip, Any chance u might consider making unit anims more adaptable in next update?

It would be awesome to have DUKWs and DD shermans swaying gently, esp if their 3d models could be lowered slightly below the waterline... They look good anyhow (see below) but, man, they could look awesome, if we could drop them say five pixels below the surface water and make them bob and bounce like your boats do...

I needed them for the GJS'44 Sword and Ouistreham landings, but the next goal is to redevelop for Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima... marrying up to Amaris' excellent work...

Btw can anyone remind me how to switch off the debug info that's showing on my cursor above? It's nice when I want it, but annoying when I'm playing...

You need to remove the DEBUGMODE tag from your user.txt file to turn the debug info back off.
