Compulsory Combat??

Post by Blathergut »

I noticed in the recent turn in a game with Turk, that there seemed to be a combat after I hit end turn? Units took casualties and some compulsory phases were happening.

yes, there are two joint phases in the game:
  • - a joint phase before, which happens right at the start of a new turn phase, before player get's the controls and in which:
    • - compulsory loot is dealt with (all units being near loot-able units, like camps for example)
    - a joint phase after, which happens right at the at the end of a turn phase, after the player pressed the End Turn button and in which:
    • - auto combat is dealt with (if the autocombat is set on, the game automatically resolves all the unresolved melee combats, without forcing the player do it manually; if autocombat is set on off, then pressing the End Turn button without having all the melee combats resolved will result in an error message on the Status Bar and on the console, asking the player to first resolve them before trying to end his turn)
      - compulsory break-off is dealt with (all MT units able to break-off will do so)
      - compulsory rally is dealt with (all units with their cohesion different than normal are tested for rally, and if they succeed they gain a cohesion level)
      - compulsory combat is dealt with (all routed BGs having non routed EBG nearby will have their strength reduced by 25% for each neighbour non-routed EBG)
      - compulsory rout is dealt with (all routed BGs moving towards their side's exit area)
the automatic combat can be switched on/off (default is on) from F12 DebugMenu (F12) -> Miscellaneous tab -> Automatic Combat button
