Nice pictures...no cheat sheet...need to buy more dice.....I intend to sit back and read the rules through for our first game sunday 3rd feb. I really hope the rules "unite" ancients again.

Well all finished!!!, FOG seems to be the natural progression from WRG 6th Edition, which from me, who still plays 6th is very high praise. I'm champing at the bit to play a full game or two next week. We have a regular game on tuesday mornings 10.30 am onwards @ Fairfield Bowling Club in Melbourne. Anyone interested ring me on 0408593781.

One thing I'll pick up from this post...A quick reference sheet would have been nice.
Obviously I know there was one available for Beta testers, but will one be made available for download for all? A nice coloured one, double-sided suitable for lamination if you please:-)

Cheers

Because the rules need to be displayable in the usual Osprey carousel it was decided not to have separate play sheets. They are indeed in the back of the rules - so no danger of losing them. They are in tasteful shades of green rather than the rather garish beta version.

It would be nice if we can find the reference sheet to download on the fog website :?

Seconded. Don't want to have to rip the ref sheet off my brand new book. In all likelihood the players will create their own like what happened w/ DBM and countless other wargames.

The reason Osprey did not want to include one is that in the past when they have supplied this type of item with a book, they get stolen very quickly leaving the book without its attachments and unsellable.

There REALLY, REALLY should be a download of the Quick Reference Sheet here. Almost every rules system I play does that. If you have that here, then people can print it out, get it laminated, and then bring it to play without damaging their original book. I truly believe that is a sensible and necessary thing to do.

best wait until the actual publication date - I don't think it is likely that anything will be made available before then.

I agree but then even if I had one I probably wouldn't use it.

The only bits of the reference sheet I use now are the terrain options for the start of the game. Everything else I know by heart.

Cheat sheet

Post by tors »

The Cheat sheets in the back of the book are easy to photo copy, but need to be redone by some budding computer wiz...not me then, they are in very small print, why not post the Beta test version for those of us who have the rules to work on?.

Agreed, I too hope we will get many new players, possibly even ones who have never really considered historical gaming.

We have no plans to relese a download sheet and we would not expect to see anyone else breaking the law by uploading one.
