CEAW 2.1 not aware of 1920 x 1280 resolution

Post by nimblebooks »

Hi,

When I run CEAW 2.1 on my Windows guest in VirtualBox 4.latest, it is only 1024 x 768 and can't seem to recognize that 1920 x 1280 is available. how can I fix this?

Wow, that really sucks. I am nearsighted and the characters are tiny that way.

Just for CEAW-GS what if you change the resolution on your monitor to something a little lower like 1200 x 900 ? or what ever your monitor and graphics card supports.

I have a 1920x1080 monitor and run GS v2.1 full screen instead of windowed. So make sure you set WINDOWED MODE = 0 in the GS210_settings.txt file. That is the default value.

I remember that there were some problems with Windows 7 and particularly Nvidia graphics card. The problem was that the screen refresh rate in Windows 7 was registered as 59.96 Hz and it was rounded down to 59 Hz. You needed the refresh rate to be 60 Hz. So you have to manually override the refresh rate in the video driver to something like 60.01 Hz. That would be rounded to 60 Hz.

In 59 hz you couldn't get full screen, but you could with 60 hz.

I remember there is a thread about this issue somewhere on the forum. Just search for Windows 7, Nvidia and 59 Hz.
