Yes, worth a try.

Allies 67 engineers, you should update the OOB after Benouville...

Haha, good point P-A... Was waiting for the AM battles to complete...

So, if Allies have 67 engineers, Germans should have 54 to maintain a 5-to-4 ratio...
Since Germans have 44 left, I will convert 10 OOB infantry to engineers
(if the majority of us vote in favour of Improved Engineers)

I vote yes too! P-A massacrated me in Carpiquet even though my naval artillery was lucky killing three tanks for him.

I wote yes.
Abbaye is finished. mlazar will confirm causalties but I lost my two tanks and a transport while he lost one VG and a gun.
We both wonder who's the winner because it ended with two flags for each side and 6-6 in points?

That's easy... If both sides have the same VP points, the defender won.

Who was the attacker for this one?
GJS'44 Rules & Regs wrote:7.7 The victor holds the most VP points at the end of the battle, and takes or holds the sector that was fought over.
7.71 If the loser does not hold any flags (or at least two flags for Allies landing on beaches) at the end, the losing BG is dissolved.
7.72 If both sides hold the same number of VP points, the defender is considered the victor.
7.73 If both sides hold the same number of VP points at the end of an ME battle, both sides must withdraw.

The results are in for abbeye - if I did my job right I lost - the score was 6 vp allies to 6 vp germans the final. So hidde blocks the allied unit that would advance to crush me and he fights the german unit behind me attempting to merge with my unit.

I lost a 37 mm and 1 vg
allies lost 1 m5 1 m10 1 kangaroo
my new computer with stupid windows 8 won't let me get a print screen so I will pass the game to cavehobbit so he can capture the loss screen if necessary
additionally we both lost the precious dead troops (a vg for me, a m5 and m10 (I believe) for the allies)

Hidde/Mlazar,

Pls post flags and points for Abbaye AM guys?

Need to know, so I can setup the PM game. Flags and approximate defender positions rollover for a multifront...

Also, pls confirm declared KIAs above...

Thanks gents! :-)

I confirm KIA.

I have also problem getting a screenshot but I've done my best.
My troops(yellow X) are mainly in the town. Some guns behind and to the right.

Thanks Hidde, Allies will start with the two 3 pts flags... Germans will start owning the Abbaye 5 pts and the Crossroads 1 pt flag... The other 5 pts flag starts neutral...

The challenge that the Allies will face, is that II/726/716 enters from the direction of Lebisey (which will put them mighty close to that neutral flag). 8/3cdn will be able to deploy around its current flags held.

Both units arrive the same day, so the battle is a Meeting Engagement (ME)... Both units would get a max of 20 force selection each... But the OOB tells me it's an 11 v 13, right?

Ok, Abbaye PM battle - Maj Honour79 v Maj Gen Jcb989
Will try to get you guys away by tonight Europe time

Improved Engineers will NOT make it for June 9th PM, but from the majority vote, they'll be in from June 10th
Will update the OOB for June 9th AM results, and engineer allocations (which may reflect which maps you choose to fight and the directions you decide to approach from)

Abbaye d'Ardenne - Brig Mlazar: Ost 411/716 [ARPS] ASD v Lt Colonel iProp(tbc?): 8/3Cdn [ATS]
Abbaye d'Ardenne was the field HQ of panzer ace Kurt Meyer, who used its tall towers to gain a view across Normandy to the Atlantic Ocean. Here, the Canadians have been intercepted and ambushed, as they transit Abbaye from Hermanville to Caen. The Abbey itself and the road to Caen score the high VP points, the crossroads and the town win field advantages. At first glance, Abbaye looks very open, but there's plenty of cover in the town, in woods, in mud, rough ground and cornfields. Both sides have very limited transport options. The better planner will win this one.

Benouville - Lt Col Joncorcuera: 858/346 [FwPS] AFD v Maj Coreysr: 30/79 [MRS]
Northern fringes of a small town to the western side of the Caen Canal, the Benouville map is fairly open (tank friendly) with a straight road running from Ouistreham southwards through Benouville town. Bunkers along the road guard coastal guns to the north. Mixed woodland and scattered farms offer some cover to infantry, further west.

NEXT BATTLES - JUNE 9th PM

Abbaye d'Ardenne - II/726/716 [PS] ME v 8/3Cdn [ATS] (since Ost 411/716 was defeated in AM)

[Bonuses: A=Arty, N=Naval, M=Medic, R=Rally, P=Promote, S=Resupply, Fw=FW190, T=Typhoon]

Thanks P-A,

Quick double check...

I thought it was M5 & M10 lost, and VG lost in first AM game... followed by another M5, M10, Roo lost, and Stielgranate and VG lost in the replay AM game? Or did something get posted incorrectly in the KIAs?
