Basing

Post by alasdair2204 »

Hi

just a quick question am basing up some more figures for fog, I would like to base the majority of infantry on double bases (just cause I can make them look nicer)with a few singles for when I have to remove casualties, is that a problem or am i better sticking to single bases

Cheers

I think you are best with mostly/all "singles" ....

Bear in mind a "single" base in 15mm-figure-scale FoG will already contain anything from 2-8 figures, or 1 elephant model

Each base is 40mm wide and 15/20/30/40mm deep (depending on what type of troops it has on it - 3 or 4 for most foot, 3 for most mounted, 2 for foot and mounted skirmishers)

As long as you have enough singles to make change when required, then go ahead and use double bases. They look better, especially for irregular (oops I mean undrilled) troops like warbands because you can depict the figures as surging forward on the base. Troops like pike are much easier to move when on double bases.
