Congrats on your first win, Corey! Thanks for posting the VP flags...

JC, Do you confirm the Allied win? Can you post the KIAs screen?

Remember that GJS'44 campaign games are over once the German player takes his "3 turns remaining" move.

If you've finished turn 3, please post the KIAs. I will use those to update the OOB.
Do you agree with Corey's post on VP flags?

Benouville, with these opponents, is extremely tough to win for the Germans (although if you ask Mike, a sneaky German can cause a LOT of pain, lol  )

And, by all means, complete the game for fun afterwards...

Here is Benouville info you needed. Once it's confirmed I'll continue the game until the end of turns.

Thanks for the (uber quick!) Strat Map update P-A.

iProp & Mlazar, Any further news from Abbaye d'Ardenne...?
We're all chomping at the bit for the mass scrap that June 10th looks likely to bring...

Gents,

While we're waiting for the Abbaye d'Ardenne morning battle to complete, it looks like some players may be having trouble getting their turns in... and I know for sure that K9mike is taking time out from his role as supreme Allied strategist Monty, and Jcb989 would prefer to play his fights rather than handle the Allied command...

So, I'd like to jiggle the teams around to even things up again, so we can all get back to the action.

If you guys are ok for that... Would any Allied player, German player or even a talented newbie, be interested in taking on the Allied command? Jcb, K9mike & me are happy to advise.

Volunteers by carrier pigeon please, while the Abbaye fight continues...

GJS'44 TEAM UPDATES - MARCH'13

Gentlemen,

JonCorcuera, Previously demon strategist for the Wehrmacht has defected to the Allies, to become our new Supreme Allied Commander. JC has now been added to the Allied private thread and removed from the German one. Jcb989 will continue as player/adviser par excellence. Monty aka K9mike will advise from the wings. So continuity and great tactics will abound! ;-)

So, our current teams are...

Allies
Col JonCorcuera (Supreme Allied Commander)
Maj Gen Jcb989
Maj CoreySr
Lt Col Hidde
Lt Col iProp

Germans
Lt Col CaveHobbit (German High Kommandant)
Lt Gen Mlazar
Lt Col Morge4
Lt Col Mowby
Maj Honour79

If there are any newbies, hiding in the forest, that would like to volunteer to join either side... Now is the time to holler up???

NB. Ranks are the GM's best estimate of player level, starting from a self-assigned level, and gradually modified over time based on performance. Lt Col GottaLove88s

BATTLES WITH NO TURNS FOR MORE THAN ONE WEEK

Congrats on the completion of the challenging Benouville battle.

Am hearing rumours that the Abbaye d'Ardenne battle has now gone more than a week without a turn being taken. If that's true, could I ask our Commanders, JonCorcuera and CaveHobbit, to discuss with their players to figure out the hold up.

If one side is having trouble getting a turn in for more than a week, it's reasonable to consider a negotiated ceasefire to the advantage of the waiting player.

As I understand the June 9th strategies for both sides, I suspect that the negotiated victor for Abbaye might desire terms that deviate from the normal defeat and withdrawal (with or without dissolution) of the side that has been unable to play. Make your proposals and agree between Commanders. I'm happy to sign off on anything that is reasonable and gets the rest of us back into play...

We're relying on Commanders' discretion to select Players who enjoy enough time to play... so Players, please inform your Commander if you'd like to turn down some battles. Temporary or permanent campaign holidays are welcomed, so our New Blood can get some opportunities to become, well, err, bloodied...

Let battle (re)commence!

Ok, Abbaye d'Ardenne replay commences...

Mlazar v Hidde

Remember guys:
1. Map winner holds most VP points at the end of the game (check the VP points labels early)
2. Units lost in battle are lost for the campaign (so kill as many of his as you can, without losing too many of your own)
3. This battle will finish after the German has taken his turn showing "5 turns remaining" (normally it would be 3)
4. Allies must select at least 1x M10 and 1x M5 and drive them to the NE corner of the map (they're KIA so leave them there, pointed outwards)
5. Germans must select at least 1x VG and walk it to the SW corner of the map (it's KIA so leave it there, looking outwards)

Nobody has heard from iProp for more than a week, so hopefully he's ok? The Allied Commander can get him back into a new battle when he re-emerges...

Good luck Gentlemen! ;-)

With about 80 multiplayer games under my belt, I'm working up the courage to get involved in a campaign. If a green recruit is needed I'm will to do my best.

I'm ready but need to check a couple of things.

We're playing the AM battle between Ost 411/716 vs Cdn 8/3?

I can take 20 units. Two has to be 1x M10 and 1x M5 that will not take part in the battle? The other 18 I can choose freely?

Well...I think that's all.

@MkBoy1313,

With 80 MP games, you're gonna do just fine, soldier! (in fact, you'll probably kick MY butt, lol)

GJS'44 campaign - JC/CaveHobbit - Which of you can take MKboy into your squads? Looks like we've had a few dropouts and there will be plenty of battles, June 10th...

Normandy Ninja - Do you fancy joining a tourney? New round just starting -> viewtopic.php?f=115&t=39693&start=320#p387789

Welcome to GJS'44

Hey Hidde, that's correct. The Allies suffered a surprise intercept while they were driving on towards Caen, so you get 20; the gets 25.
See here for map overview -> viewtopic.php?f=87&t=38844&start=1120#p384742

It's unusual that you're required to choose the M5 and the M10, but you're replaying a game for an MIA commander. The other 18, you can pick anything you like.

Check the Order of Battle to see what units your opponent has access to. JC can advise you if you want him to.
Also post liberally on the Allied private thread to swap comments with team mates...

Good luck!

I have started the game but I must ask again...
I only had 18 units available. Two M10 & 1 M5. After closer look at the strategic map I can see that it indeed was all there was to start with.
Just to be sure; I still have to park one of each to the side? 8)
