My game with Grudgebringer.

Grudgebringer Swiss 23/36 Win
vrs
IDS Low Countries 38/38 Loss

A good game , my pike, bow and dismounted knights came down from the hill that Grudge
refused to climb , uncomfortably i was not able to set up my lines of bow and pike before
the indomitable superior swiss pike made contact , i spent the rest of the time trying to
patch up holes army.

Well played and good luck in your future games ,
Cheers
Ian

Yes Ian unfortunatly you are the first casualty of the contest. I may run double life elimination for the next comp that way you get to play at least twice :)

I have been asked by Rex how i figured out that he would be playing Grudgebringer. Basically 9 team single elimination draw and due to the odd number then 1 player gets a bye. That player will then take on the winner of 1 and 2. Here is a link so you can see how it all works http://www.printyourbrackets.com/9teams ... ation.html

I will attempt to place the draw on here for you to all see . Cant copy the brackets and paste as its protected

Brenmusik Swiss 4/36 bt Jonathan4290 Medieval French later 44/40

I thought I was "Toast" when I saw the battlefield. My Swiss were at the bottom of a "mountain" covered in bowmen, the French had brought along their Scottish archer pals as well. The Swiss marched up edging to the right, to leave only one open flank to be guarded by most of my halbardiers. Nearly all of the French mounted knights appeared way out on my left, to hook round behind my pikes - who were busy chewing up the hapless bowmen in the centre. Rout followed rout and the French collapsed just as the knights closed on the halbardiers who were waiting on a rise in the ground - being turned into pin cushions by a line of crossbowmen.

Ok so far we have 2 winners Grudgebringer who is now playing Rexhurley . The winner from that game will then take on the winner of the game between Solly and Batesmotel.Brenmusik will take on the winner of the game between Turk1964 and ScipioAsinus.Could we have a report on the game between Solly and Batesmotel as all has been quite there. The match between myself and Skippy is leaning heavily toward the Scots at the momment.

Rex if you can give us an update of your game against Grudge that would be very appreciated (Grudge still cant use the forum)

Thankyou all Cheers Turk

Up to turn five we had Swiss 8/36 free company 0/45, last turn he pulled some back now waiting on him.

basically he did his normal turtle manouvre but surprisingly behind step hills thankfully I had deployed in the centre just in case, next few turns will tell the game as I get some units behind his flanks and the swiss try to fight longbowman mtd on steep hills 8) 8)

I've smashed Solly's center with my Galloglaich and their supports while he is finally breaking my right flank with his knights and Swiss pikes. The score is currently something around 25/67 for me and 28/43 for Solly so it looks like Solly's Nuevo Castillians will succumb to Irish numbers.

Gday Rex ive just moved your result to this thread. :)

Scratch one grudge. In a cunning attempt to fool my mercenaries he turtle deployed behind the step hills and ploughed fields the opposite sie of where I expected him to be thankfully I had deployed in a central position thus allowing my MI to reach the heights first then swat aside his futile attacks. Highlights of the game, one unit of French Xbow holding off 4 unit of Swiss pike for two full turns and two rear charges conducted by the whores and children of my baggage train

Finals score Swiss 40/36 Free Company 17/45

Thanks as always for the game grudge and playing through with honour in the face of adversity

ScipioAsinus Scots(Continental) 39/45 vs Turk 1964 Anglo Irish (58/56)

A very close game.
The scots were defending behind a stream, with their left wing guarded by french knights.
The battle began by an exchange of arrows across the stream which was to the advantage of the more numerous Scots archers.
On my left flank, the knights supported by men at arms clashed against irish lances supported by Galloglaich and kerns, while the Irish center attacked across the stream.
After a confused battle, the Scots won a marginal victory.

Thanks for the game.

Now we can move on to the next round and the players are............

Rexhurley vs Batesmotel

ScipioAsinus vs Brenmusik

The player who is mentioned first is to initiate the challange. Could you also PM your opponent to make sure they know whats happening. Good luck to you all and the winner of each challange will go into the final for the Battle Grande.
