Late Game Slowdown?

This is (unfortunately) fairly common in this kind of game, but not usually this bad...

In a long game, the longer it goes on, the slower and more sluggish everything gets. I'm on a game at around turn 250, and every click results in a multiple-second delay before anything happens.

Incidentally, you can't upload .pandorasave files to the forums.
