Good point, but I am sure he will do his best. I wonder if he knows he has been volunteered for 2 teams. I suspect that in reality Tim will be playing with Adam.

I'm just hoping there isn't a free set of rules and lists on offer for the winners.

Apparently www.Madaxeman.com has so far been responsible for generating over 5% of Amazon.co.uk's total advance orders for FoG :o and so I'd be gutted if I'd got so succesful that RBS and JD felt they had to resort to giving the thing away to undercut me !

And how is a Slave revolt army not barbarian??

We are just escaped, partially Roman equiped barbarians after all.

Richard,

Are you going to post the DBM runners and riders (on the DBM list?). Or do us old timers just have to wait and see?

UMPIRE! Where's the umpire? There's clear bias here in favour of FOG.

Have the players made it safely out of the Welsh FOG and mist? :)

Well it was stonking fun and tyhanks to Ricahrd for the organisation.

In our period

Winners : Bruce and Andy with Later Seleucid
Runners up : Me and Terry with Gallic

Some sort of proof that a HF barbarian army can cause some serious headaches in field of glory.

That's great to hear, Simon! Would you be willing to share a few details about the composition and disposition of your Gallic army?

Many thanks,

Im currently sat in an airport looking at a 10 hour flight thinking "I wish I had some army list books so I could start to design an army for next time to take into account all I learnt this weekend..."

I think that this conclusively proves that these rules must have what it takes 8)

Well it is good within theme. It remains to be seen how good it is in open tournaments.

Our Poles certainly didn't feel outmatched by them.

We drew one game and lost two against them. However, one of the defeats was entirely down to dice (we charged 4 BGs of 4 knights and 3 generals into 3 BGs of knights and 3 generals. End result: We routed 1 of their BGs and killed one of their generals, they routed all 4 of our BGs and killed all 3 of our generals). The other defeat was due to poor play on my part.

We managed to beat both Hungarians we played (albeit narrowly) with Serbians.

I think the bottom line is that there isn't one particular "killer" army and that all armies are viable and can win if played with properly. In our case I think that means we always needed another half hour...

We both had great fun during the event though.
