Hits awarded for 1s and 2s

I have noticed lately that hits are being awarded for rolls of 1s and 2s.Now it doesnt happen all the time but in one game it happened 3 times.Galatian Superior protected impact foot charging into Persian Mf light spear i rolled 2,3 1,5. 1 hit. Persians rolled 1,3 2 6 3 hits awarded. Galatians lost 1 hit to 3 and were Fragmented .This was out in the open no terrain modifiers. Same game same troops Galatians rolled 2,3,2,4. awarded 1 hit perians rolled 1,6 (Were disrupted) 2 hits awarded guess what Galatians fragged again.Ina recent game Turkish Ghilman charged into Armoured defensivespear heavy foot(This is the best one) Ghilman rolled 2,3,2,5 1 hit Spearmen 1,2,3 5 4 hits awarded.Yep fragged Ghilman again. There were quite a few other bizzare results in other games. Is this a bug and have others seen this?

I'm not an expert but I suspect the recipients of the charged were Mixed units and had some bow capability. I believe these units fire a volley of arrows as the agressors charge into them (only applies to frontal attacks) and thus get an additional 2 (I think) dice rolls on impact. These additional rolls don't appear in the log, although they may appear in the detailed log. I'm sure the experts will be able to confirm this.

Thanks for your reply Morbio and this may be the case,just have to check the Persians. I havent noticed this before though and i do keep a good eye on dice rolled.One would have thought the volley would be included in the initial roll though not an extra one you dont see Hopefully Chris or Eric will be able to fill me in more on what happens here

I've never known how to turn the numbers on(a tip would be very appreciated), but if it doesn't show the re-roll that Superiors get for 1s, it might be the reason. They roll 1, then reroll it as 6, meaning they hit. (for the ghilman example, maybe the heavy spears were superior and the leader? Meaning they reroll 2s too)

That's a possibility too.

I can never remember the shortcut key to turn on the summary and detail displays. If you open the manual (book icon) and look in the section "Keyboard Shortcuts" it tells you all you need to know.

Gday giuys no none were superior units that were attacked they were both average. The key you hit to see the Pre combat odds and dice rolled is the "P" on your key board . To turn it off press "O". In both case they were mixed units with rear bow support. As i said i would have thought this would have been calulated in the original pre combat odds. I believe its some form of bug as i watch the dice rolls and have never noticed this before . Occasionaly i have seen 5 hits awarded to Mixed Infantry and it will only show you what 4 of the hits are . When next it happens i will try to do a screen shot so you can see whats happened.
