Hello Richard,
point taken - and I've not played enough FOG-R to really be able to suggest rules mods with any real justification. So I'm happy to drop the suggestion.

Though as deployments are planned the night before, shouldn't we use sketch maps rather than deployment tranches :-)

(The counter to this is that tranches does at least stop the situation of armies being deployed on the diagonal) from each other.

Hi Marc,

having just got a bunch of Warlord 28mm on Ebay at a fabulous bargain price, I'm keen to sign up for the only competition I'll be able to use them in.

Do I just Paypal the money to you at your email address?

I can make it a "transfer to a friend*" so you won't have to bear charges.

Regards,

Dave

* Which, technically, it is. Because aren't we all friends here...

Hello Dave,
Glad to have you aboard - that makes 4 players confirmed already :-)

I've not tried receving money via Paypau, so I'll be happy to take payment on the day. The venue is both cheap an pretty flexible so the £5 is a a guidleine (should cover the rooms, tea/coffee and some prizes).

My address if anyone wants to use snail-mail is

30 Fernhill Road,
Cove,
Farnborough
GU14 9RX

I'll do list checking unless I get a volunteer. E-mail them to me by 22nd September.

Of course, but we made a design decision not to have deployment maps, for game reasons. (Been there, done that, got the scars to prove it. Suffice it to say that deployment maps cause all sorts of problems).

The present system, we believe, gets the most historical result possible without resorting to deployment maps.

Planning for 6th October at the moment. Problem is that there is a show somewhere within a week or 2 of most dates, so I had to plump for one.

Glad to have you if your are available.

I'll bring some flyers to the Clevedon competition

Had 2 more entries today. That gives me about 10-14 people who are definitely interested.

Therefore this is definitely viable :-)

Can anyone who has mentioned that they want to attend in the forum also e-mail to confirm ? MarcCPriest AT aol DOT com

Sorry Nigel,
I'd scribbled the list on piece of paper and then misread it.

Hello Ben,
Table size is 6' by 4'. The club has a good supply of 6' by 5', but not quite enough to make all tables that big.

So we can either mark then all as 6' by 4' with tape or have some at 6' by 5'

This is relatively local to me.....but I don't possess any 25mm figures.

Is anyone able to loan me an army?

Pete,
Try Richard Jeffrey Cook - he has several armies for the period.

If we get an odd number of players, I'll duck out - you can then use my Late Russians.
