Thought it would be good to give the allied elite unit some sort of symbol as the German elites will have the SS rune.

Perhaps German BGs off board to the bottom left? Allies off board to top right? But tbh if you can, I leave it to your creativity... You're leaving the rest of us behind for dust...
No problems, I got it all prepared... 8)
I will add BGs scheduled to arrive and those to return from dissolution later today. Will also use dropbox to attach map so you don't need to scroll the attachment :)

Single Bayeux scenario for June 8th PM is now available for download...

Bayeux 2 is a standalone battle, so you can install it without affecting the current (June 8th) full GJS'44 campaign download.
As a multifront battle, VP flags begin where the June 8th AM game finished.
ie. Allies hold the Road to the North (3 pts) and Pont Ste Jean d'Arc (5 pts).

Setting it up, Bayeux 2 looks a much more interesting game than Bayeux's AM battle.
Germans have lots of firepower (ATGs and mortars) but look infantry light.
Allies enjoy a nice force mix, but approaching from the northeast, their armour and transports start on the far side of the river...

My only caution would be for players to carefully clock where the points are. There will be some obvious flashpoints, probably on the bridges, but Bayeux 2 looks likely to mean fast, long distance movement. Transports essential for both sides.

This one will be a fun play. Bayeux 2 could go either way...

Happy hunting gentlemen!

How to download the GJS'44 maps into Battle Academy
GottaLove88s wrote:Ok guys,

1. Run BA on your Mac, PC or iPad
...
8. Choose Campaigns (at the bottom)
9. Choose Download Community Scenarios (at the top)
10. Choose Download a Campaign Package from the Internet (top right)
11. Type http://bit.ly/BA88mod into the URL box
12. Click the green tick
13. Back at the campaigns list, select "GJS44 v1.22 - June 8th PM" and click Download the Selected Campaign (bottom centre)
14. This should download everything that you need
15. Press X until you get back to the BA start screen and choose Multiplayer
16. Log in to Multiplayer as usual
17. Either go to the My Challenges tab and click the New Challenge arrow. This list will now show the GJS'44 v1.22... Bayeux 2 is new
18. Or go to the Accept Challenges tab and click the scenario that you're supposed to be fighting (if your opponent has already setup your game)

After all that, you can play Bayeux 2 on any platform... Phew!!
Neat instructional vid by fellow gamer IDjester, explaining how to download and setup GJS'44... Thanks mate. NICE! :D

Hmm... Very nice map PA!... It reveals an interesting strategic outlook...

Allies are about to receive two armour BGs, an infantry, and will presumably merge 151/50 into 5AL/6...
Meanwhile, Germans get their first two elite BGs... both mechanised...

Much will depend on who wins the +1 movement in Caen... Any ideas how that one's going?

Btw Bayeux June 8th PM is up and ready - Commanders, please assign to your team! :-)

Looks like its a rematch of PA versus JCB over in Bayeux.
Allies could use a new recruit commander.
There was an offer in the other thread, he should be signed up.
Do I do that?

Hey Justin/PA,

Absolutely! Team commanders have full discretion to bring on new players. All welcome...

PM/email potential newbies an invite to explain the basic concepts (25 day campaign, units rollover in battle groups, 8-man infantry, smoke, swap, etc).
Then ask them to post on this thread if they would like to join (including which team).

I will add their BA forum accounts to our German or Allied private threads, to get into team Strat Chat and June 8th battle AARs.

Then just assign 'em a game for June 9th... As easy as taking Hillman with two Cromwells and an M5... I'm beginning to hate that map!!

Good luck in Bayeux 2 guys...

I think the sequel is going to be much more fun/challenging that Bayeux 1!

Your AARs will be interesting... Share screenshots with team mates (and the GM ;-)) if you can.

Hello Hidde,
Welcome aboard. I think you now make for a total of two new folk that are interested so I will let Jon (GL88) set you guys up with a side choice.
Allies or Germany, for or against Mr. Cavehobbit. =)

Guys, We have some new great players joining us from June 9th...

Please would all players (current and new) indicate if you consider yourself...
1. An active player
(can finish a 20 turn battle in 1-2 weeks, time zones permitting)
2. Active but busy (so can't play too many games or too often)
3. Taking a break
4. Leaving the campaign for now

Also, please give yourself a rank A,B,C,D,E, so we keep the teams balanced... Be honest! JC and JCB, nope, there's no way either of you are C's!!
Most of you guys have played me, so I reckon I'm a B... Strategically sound most of the time but prone to making foolish goofs (as Al and JC are discovering in our Hillman tourneys, lol)
We'll use your answers to keep the teams even...

NB. If you don't reply by Sunday night (Feb 10th) we'll assume you're 3. Taking a break...

Caen and Buron are nearly done, and Bayeux 2 is in progress... Turn-by-turn AARs and screenshots on team private threads...

Player Status

GottaLove88s - Active (GM) - Rank B (Colonel)
Cavehobbit - Active (German commander) - Rank B/C (Lt Colonel)
Honour79 - Active (German player) - Rank C (Major)
Jcb989 - Active/Busy (Allied player) - Rank B (Colonel)
Hidde - Active/Busy (team tbd) - Rank B (Colonel)
Morge4 - Active (German play) - Rank B/C (Lt Colonel)
K9mike - Taking a break

Cavehobbit - 1. Active player (Axis) - Rank B-C

Welcome Anders! If you're as good in BA as in Field of Glory, you are without doubt a rank A player :)

I also want to welcome another recruit, Alexis aka Honour79. He will be fighting for the Axis side.

Hello!
I have just arrived from Bad Tölz and I'm ready for my first assignment. I graduated with the highest grades but I lack some combat experience so I consider myself a C. I'm an active player using an Ipad. Alexis.larsson(at)gmail(dot)com

I usually can play 1-2 turns per day per game.
I have to rate myself a B because I know Mlazar and Ktiger are both A's

Thanks for the welcome.

To clearify...I'll probably fluctuate between active and active but busy.
My work load in real life goes up and down and Field of Glory might also interfere but mostly I should be active.

Maybe, just maybe I could have claimed rank A when I played as most intensive but that was the year right after BA was first released.
Since then I have gone back a couple of times and played a few games. Last time was about a year ago.
So it's hard to estimate but no higher than B, I can't imagine...

Is it up to me to decide team?
Just put me where I'm most needed. Either side is ok with me.

Cool, let's get in a fresh Allied commander to let you take a break from leading... Someone who likes the strategic side of play, so you can jump into Fireflies (plenty coming now) and kick ass!

Btw, totally agree Mlazar and KT are certain A graders... BUT, if you're a B, then I'm a C+ at best...
I've listed you as B, because ranks are all self-assessed (confessed?), but man you're an easy A- ... at the very least...

We need to protect the new guys from being suckered in, lol...

Gents,

Reminder: Please let us know your activity status for the GJS'44 campaign (and your grade! ;-))
See -> viewtopic.php?f=87&t=38844&p=382776#p382641

So far, we've got a GM and four players...

Also, we need a Strategic Allied Commander... Justin (Jcb989) prefers racing his tanks around to mop up German resistance, and with Monty (k9mike) temporarily retired from the field, Churchill is desperate to appoint a new tactician...

Any volunteers??? Jcb989 will continue playing and can advise the new Allied commander. K9mike is happy to advise but doesn't have time to play...
