grading of Tamil swordsmen

Post by richnz »

Hi, I'm looking at playing a few practice games using a Tamil army, using a speculative army list.

How should I grade the Tamil swordsmen (Irr Bd F in DBM)? Undrilled medium foot seems a given, but should they get any other capabilities? Impact foot / swordsmen? Or maybe just mob?

And since this army morphs into Malay, how would Malay swordsmen be treated (Irr Wb S in DBM).

Cheers

Most DBM Irr Bd(F) are I think translating to impact foot, swordsmen although it does depend on how they fought and if they had a fierce charge. Not knowing much about Tamils I am afriad it is difficult to say. The Classical indian swordsmen are IIRC light spear, swordsmen.

I figure Chola are probalby MF Drilled, Swordsmen, impact Foot. Possibly protected. Tamils the DBM irregulars would undrilled.

Chola would probably be drilled. If they have decent shields then they will almost certainly be protected. The only real issue is the impact POA.
