what does the number the number besides "agression" on the diplomacy screen represents?also why is alll the map "all visible" all the time? is it a bug?

Agression is how aggressive that nation is. The higher the value the more likely they are to attack.

I would add that a higher aggression rating seems to make the nation in question more active, while a lower aggression rating seems to make them more inclined to sit around passively.

The map is visible in all time-I don't know frankly speaking since the trade was going on all the time it was not so difficult to spot a gathering enemy army.Also since many Greek states had some sort of semi-democracy sending real military force was a matter of debate and voting -so your agents didn't needed to be 007s to spot such activities.
I really like it more then 'Chariots' fog of war - for a month time period you'd get info where your enemies are .
