12) End on the Elbe

Level: Field Marshal, stock/game corps
Prestige: Begin: 550. End: 100. Net: -450 (plus on V1 used for prestige)
Result: DV 22/22

Core changes:
  • • Added a green Maus and Go229,
    • Upgraded one Me262 to Go229 and the Fw190G to Do335.
    • Disbanded a V1 during scenario for prestige
Problems:
  • • None noted.
General impressions/comments:
  • • A fun scenario to end this branch. I imagine it would be harder if you had no V weapons retained or were unable to disband them – the provided prestige was drying up so I spent one V1 in that fashion to avoid that.

(The) End on the Elbe

Colonel, Imported Core, DV 22/22, also played to achieve a loss on turn 21.
Prestige before deployment: 12260

DV works, and I also tested the 'loss' triggers (only for southern zone) and those seem to work as well.

Just some general comments, no real problems found. Not too difficult but still challenging with my still suboptimal core (two Pz IV, Ta 152, AAA units). I figure that having everything maxed out would make it too easy on this difficulty level.

The motorized Allied infantry seems to get ahead of their armored support and are sometimes easily destroyed because of this. Air waves are heavy and well-timed, my airforce and AAA had its hands full. The auxiliary units (Maus, etc.) are powerful but not overwhelming, and I think the Gotha will be welcomed by those who struggle with the air war.
