I agree!! Picked up a Nexus 7 and it's awesome,.....would love to play on Android,.....and the Nexus has come out with a 10" tablet too.
I'll never buy an Apple product. In my opinion,...they are overpriced and too trendy (meaning,..more hype than they're worth).

Agree, it would be great to play on Android...albeit a small screen. A tablet would be nicer 8)

It's definitely on our radar. The archaic development tools definitely don't help with getting a version going quickly, but hopefully now that Andrew is fulltime on BA we have more bandwidth to get the game out to all the Droiders out there :).

Cheers

I had thought an android option to be sort of a waste of time what with Windows 8 on the horizon. What was I thinking? Expecting MS to actually make life better/easier :-)

So yes an Android BA and an Android Panzer Corps would be nice.

I have stopped waiting on W8 to be a useful miracle.

Yes, I am going to be getting a Nexus in the future, and like said...would love to be able to have available to play on. I am with John on the Ipad(apple stuff)...
Thanks for the response.

So, got a few questions about Eastern Front (This is a title I'm terribly excited about, as I tend to find this theater much more compelling to study):
Will the campaigns offer a survey of the entire war in this theater? (That is, campaigns about Barbarossa (summer and winter), Stalingrad, Kursk, Minsk, Crimea, or a certain number of these?)
Which side will be the default single player side, or will there be campaigns to be played as the Germans, and others to be played as the Russians?
Will the smaller countries that supported the axis on this front be represented, or at least included for the editor? (In particular, the Finns?)
How much detail do you intend for the Stalingrad maps?
Will snipers be included in this edition?

Thanks much. Truly looking forward this one.

We're still nailing down the main game campaigns - we are definitely likely to avoid trying to shoe-horn the entire war into a few campaigns, and we want to give the initial release a reasonable spread of the units from early to late war. As soon as we have things more nailed down we will add some info to the BA2 forum :)

I only recently came across BA (via Pocket Tactics), but I am already looking forward to BA2. Great job, guys!

However, one thing that I found missing (and that I enjoyed quite a bit in Steel Panthers) is intentional and unintentional smoke—will you consider adding visibility effects to BA2?

Smoke has been a perennial request, and we are definitely looking at it for BA 2. It will depend on how well we can make it work around the existing mechanics.

I'd love to be one of the Mac alpha and beta testers. Very excited about the eastern front iteration of Battle Academy.

Will BA2 take advantages of monitor resolution?
Now, with bigger resolution you get bigger pixels, no more map on the screen.

I don't understand - just use the zoom level to adjust the amount on screen?

With the zoom you make the objects and tiles bigger or smaller but don't take advantage of the resolution.

BA (when loaded without zoom) shows always 12 x 10 tiles
at 1024 x 768
at 1280 x 200
at 1680 x 1050
or any other resolution

If you open Excel, or any app that takes in account the resolution, you see a number of columns and rows according to your resolution. If you have a 21" monitor you see a lot of cells, if you have a old monitor with 800x600 you see less.

That's still the same thing as Iain was talking about. If you zoom out, then you see more tiles, but rendered with more pixels than if you zoomed out at a lower resolution. It is literally the same as you would see if we kept the pixel scale the same as you suggest. Unless you are saying you want the pixel scale to change but to then be able to zoom out even more so the tiles etc were tiny?

BA 2 will almost certainly support all the current languages.

I've been away from BA for several months. I have not reviewed all the hundreds of posts since my last visit so I hope this has not been brought up before (I did a quick search and found nothing). But I saw this topic about an Eastern Front BA2 and I got very interested and wanted to make one observation from the BA(1) game.

I've cranked up the BA original and Blitzkreig France games I have and was reminded how some of the tanks (and other a few other vehicles) are a bit off scale. Most noticable is the Tiger and especially King Tigers are too large compared to the Allied Tanks. When in adjacent tiles, the King Tiger's barrel is over the top of a Sherman. If I had my preferences, I'd like to see all tanks slightly smaller compared to the tile size and more consistently to scale. I would hope if this got implemented in BA2 it would migrate to BA1.

Enjoying the old BA games again and look forward to a BA2.
