Hey CL, Try this -> viewtopic.php?f=87&t=36587&hilit=ortona+mp#p344064
Ortona is the perfect urban practice map, before hitting eg. Caen and Bayeux.
So long as you don't already have Ortona MP on your system, it should load ok.

Btw, where did you find the JUN06 and JUN07 GJS'44 downloads?
I'm trying to remove them so everyone's playing the same version...
Thanks! :-)

iPad and screenshot: press Home button and Power button simultaneously (the screen will flash with for a short moment). Then in the forum when posting a replay, in the Upload attachment tab you can browse your iPad's photo album and you should find your screenshot there. If you need more detailed help, contact me.

The shadow Caen game ended with a (freakily lucky) German victory... 16 Allied losses to 12 German, 8 points to 9... Fortunes swinging all over the place, with transports given away for zip, and infantry caught in the open... The trick for the Germans seems to be figuring out how to get out from the starting position... Our lips are sealed ;-)

Hey Mitch, Glad to have you back!
Instructions for the download link are here -> viewtopic.php?f=87&t=38844&start=920#p377741
There are some aerial recon shots of all four battle maps just above the instructions.

Both of you have to choose the Caen June 8th version...
Good luck!

Hey Mitch,
I can see that Al's June 8th Caen challenge has disappeared, so you've matched up ok.
Can you let me know what you see when the turn loads? Will look into it for you...

Hmm... that's an odd one... Sounds like one for Pip... Recommend you post a new Caen June 8th challenge as Allies, and PM the pword for Al... See if it works that way?

Hey iProp, Seems to be a Slith server problem.

I've just tried to play my turn in a Ouistreham game already running with Morge4. I think I'm getting the same error that you are, "Failed to load the turn correctly. Please check your connection and try again"...

Am going to shut everything down, restart the Mac, and try the iPad too... Will let you know.

If it's a Slith issue, we'll have to wait until they get a chance to fix it. On the plus side, it means your downloads are fine tho. Phew! :-)

Sorry mate. :-(

Slith server seems to be working again today... Shadow Ouistreham game is finished... Germans put up a particularly stiff resistance, with a pilot that earned multiple Knights' Crosses killing tanks and troops EVERYWHERE!! Germans lost 16 units, Allies lost 12... But a clever sneak attack by the defenders took back the 4th flag, leaving the Allies with only the 1-pointer in the marsh... Not (quite) dissolved, but most shameful... For me at least, Ouistreham looks like it needs to be taken by two BGs coming from multiple directions... Well done Morge!!

How's it going in Bayeux, Buron and Caen gents?
Remember to stop and post results after the German plays his "3 turns remaining" moves...

GJS'44 Rules & Regs wrote:7.6 The battle is ended once the German player has completed his move showing "3 turns remaining", ie. Games last for 20 turns.
7.61 At the end of the game, the German player should post on this thread which side holds each of the five VP flags, using each flag's label name and showing its VP points value, for example:
June 6th - Juno Beach VPs
German - Road to Tailleville (5 pts)
German - Road to Courseulles (5 pts)
Allied - West Cliff (3 pts)
Neutral - Barracks (3 pts)
Allied - Juno Bunker (1 pt)
German 10 pts v Allied 7 pts
German victory

7.62 The German player must also take a screenshot of the units killed in action (KIAs) screen, showing both sides losses, and post it to this forum thread.
7.63 The Allied player should quote the German's battle report on this thread and add "VP flags and KIAs agreed". If the Allied player does not agree, the German player must post screenshots showing each of the five VP flags, and return the game to the Allied player.
