Is it correct that the Austrian army (p. 107 of E & E) can only have 3 divisions as it lists a maximum of 3 divisional commanders?
Edit: Actually, flipping through and noticing, there are a fair number of armies with only 3 divisions allowed. Never noticed this before! Is this intentional to keep the corps with less command or such???

There are a number of lists that only allow 3 divisions - This is deliberate and is intended to reflect the relatively poor command & control that those armies had.
The restriction of 3 DCs does not affect the availablility of additional divisions from other lists.

I think this is a good thing to make some of these cumbersome.
Challenge is when one of the 3 has to be a cavalry division. Then you really start getting tight. Which is OK actually.

Just out of curiosity I noticed that the Austrian Army of the Danube 1805 can only have 3 divisions, but can't take any allies. Russian Army of Austria can take 1 Austrian allied division.
Was this an oversight or was this intentional?
Guess who is trying to put together an 1805 Austrian army....

The Army of the Danube was destroyed at Ulm and the Russian army hadn't got into the theatre yet, so no Russian allies for the Austrians. The army that fought at Austerlitz was essentially a Russian army but with the remnants of the Austrian's, so the Russians can get Austrian allies.
No oversight, just historical.

Ah yes forgot about poor Hiller and Ulm, makes sense now and yes from what I do recall from reading the campaign book it was mostly a Russian force at Austerlitz. Although I thought Austria had to pay the most from losing as the Russians made it back across the border and only Austria had to be humiliated at the peace table.
