Roman/Greek MF in V2.0

Post by RobMacScott »

Hi Folks,

Found last weekend time to read V2.0 and it seems the here long discussed (and in fact I thought already decided) changes in ArmyLists do NOT apply (please correct me if I’m incorrect):

• Romans keep their ‘skilled swordsmen’ ability
• Roman Auxiliary and Greek Thureophoroi can still be based as MF (not only as HF or LF)

Best regards,
Rob

While the proposed list changes have not happened, those troops have changed a little in how they work on the battlefield (which may have achieved the desided results):

Skilled Swordsmen: heavy weapon troops now get a POA against these (same as swordsmen). Also, armoured SSw infantry only end up on a + POA now against protected swordmen in melee. So both of these have achieved the same end effect in these cases as if they were just Swordsmen.

The MF auxiliary/theurophoroi types have their movement wings clipped a bit - losing 2MU on an expand and move or turn and move manouvre. So they are a bit more ploddy than before.
