Re: LOEG Season 9 - Communications and results - Dark Ages
Division C
Ironclad (Arab Conquest early) 10/42 vs Epos (Maurikian Byzantine) 41/34
Helped by a victory on the right flank the Arabs won the close quarters stand up battle which followed.

Division B
Ironclad (Early Alans) 19/32 vs Steve-h8 (Early Anglo-Saxon) 53/53
The Alans fired initially at the Saxon nobles who were scattered along the shield wall but eventually were forced into hand to hand combat where their greater mobility and generally favourable breakaways, allowed them to concentrate against and defeat the centre of the Saxon army. Good tense fight despite the score.

Re: LOEG Season 9 – Communications and results – Imperial
My last game with Flatsix (the thick) i about wrapped up and it appears that he is going to beat me. This has been a very enjoyable tourney and I'm very much looking forward to the next season.
In the meantime, I'm going to look for my Zen place to help me better deal with the, ahem, quirky combat results...
Thanks to all my opponents for great games and for the organizers fr running it.
Cheers!

Re: LOEG Season 9 – Communications and results – Imperial
fogman (early dominate romans) 25/39 vs scipioasinus (late dominate romans) 35/35
the late romans picked a difficult battlefield, marshes and woods on the left, partially broken on the right. the middle was clear and there they massed a potent centre of veteran legionnaries and cataphracts. medium troops clashed in the marshes and woods while the weaker early romans' centre peeled away to the right and left delaying impact for as long as possible. the late romans swung to the left towards the early romans' camp and finally engaged the latter's centre. by then the early romans had achieved numerical superiority on both wings and overwhelmed their foes at the same time as their own centre collapsed.
