commander??

what happens to a commander if he is with a bg that is lost (leaves the table) in a melee due to a conhesion test

If you mean he is with a BG that does it's initial rout off table then he is lost. Commanders cannot leave routing BG until the JAP.

But if the BG autobreaks or breaks and routs but remains on table, then the commander can move away in the JAP.

Hi Grandad,

I understand that you are new to FOG. Just remember that even a unit that Autobreaks does an initial rout move. This is important as the pursuing BG must also make an initial pursuit.

Read through the sequence of events and it will probably help you notice what happens to the commander.

Note, that the pursuing BG get a chance to lop off the head of the commander IF they maintain contact (on a 10-12 what's more)
