Hotseat Windows vs. Mac System

is there any way to play against one ceaw installed on a pc system and the otherone installed on a apple system? problem is: can't open the multiplayer file send by email on the mac system. there is a pop-up: game was saved in a older version (both versions of the game are 1.04). anyone got help?
