After poring over practically every line in the rulebook for literally hours trying to find any rules pertaining to howitzers, I *finally* found one little chart that lists them as taking away + POA for units in 'cover'. Is this their only use? Are there actually any rules anywhere that discuss howitzers other than to mention their cost? I am assuming that if one has an howitzer as an artillery attachment (can't find any rules that say they can be anything else), then only their one die negates + POA?
Any help appreciated.

Re: Howitzers?
you are correct in every regard.
Essentially you pay a bit extra to go after buildings.

Re: Howitzers?
Like wise question for heavy art attachment : what is the extra 2 points for compared to a medium attachment ?
Unless a heavy art unit can only have a heavy art attachment and a medium unit only a medium attachment, but I have not found a rule for this.
Thx for the clarification,

Re: Howitzers?
heavy artillery shoots with no - vs entrenched or in buildings units
Re: Howitzers?
So in the POA-table 'siege' artillery is actually 'heavy' artillery ?
There is no difference with a howitzer ?
Quid mortars, are there included in any army list ?

Re: Howitzers?
Which POA table do you use ? The one in the rulebook has been slightly changed .
The QRS is dowlaodable somewhere but I will sent it to you by mail.
You fire with a - if the target is in cover unless howitzer, heavy artillery, mortars or rockets .
If you shoot with an attachment, the attachment rolls a die but does not suffer the - of the unit ( usually infantry ) .
Remember also to sent me your army list for IWC
