Is V2.0 available through retailers?

Post by madaxeman »

I got an email from Caliver Books saying they had copies of V2.0 for sale at the moment - is this correct as all the stuff I ready on this site seemed to imply it was only available direct from Slitherine.

Does this mean there already is some form of distribution through other retailers (and potentially US-based FLGS-type outlets too)?

Hi Tim,

This is an interesting development. Theoretically, there is no reason why the POD can't be distributed via 3rd parties as all you have to do is print say 600 copies and send 300 of those for 3rd party distribution. However, all the forum posts indicated that V2 would only be available via Slitherine

Looking up the Caliver website, they are offering for sale V2 of FOG A&M at £29.99 as a "self published" book by R Bodley-Scott (not available via Osprey)!

Perhaps the good Dr now has a side line! (joke - he's my FOGR teammate!). :)

Is there anything to stop somebody with the necessary funds from simply ordering a number of copies and selling them on at a markup?

I am aware of at least one Australian retailer who has ordered stock (that has yet to arrive) hopefully for sale at The Worlds, Cancon in late January. Be interesting to see if his price is RRP plus plus. :?

Not sure why you'd buy via Caliver as seems a £3 premium over Slithering (assuming P+P is the same). Perhaps they are simply acting as your purchasing agent rather than having distribution via slitherine?

It would certainly help if traders at shows had copies to sell.

All of our line up is available from our network of dealer stores scattered around the world. This includes the games and books.

Just a note - anyone waiting on their order, the 2nd print run is due to ship late next week. The initial print run is completely sold out. We don't have final delivery times yet but it wont be much longer to wait.
