BA on XBOX/PS3?

Post by LandMarine47 »

Recently for Christmas I received a XBOX 360 and was wondering is Slitherine working on bringing the epic games like BA, CC and Panthers in the Fog to XBOX and PS3?

The hurdles for publishing are a lot higher, and the potential issues with things like the MP system etc. So it's not something currently in our plans. We do, however, never say never...

I said that before somewhere else here on the forum, BA would be just perfect to become a XBL Arcade game. What would be the 'potential issues' with the MP system? XBL by default is a closed system but there are exceptions like games that play say on the EA servers, so I suppose it would be possible to play the game on the 360 and still have the possibility to get access to the Slitherine MP servers. There's nothing like BA on the XBL Arcade game market but other strategy titles are available and are well received afaik, so to publish this gem of a game on the 360 (or on the soon to come new Xbox) would certainly attract players and sell well. Just remember those who said Minecraft wouldn't work on a console or be well received by the console crowd...and here's what happened after the game showed up on the XBL Arcade Marketplace:
The Xbox 360 version of Minecraft became profitable within the first 24 hours of the game's release when the game broke the Xbox Live sales records with 400,000 players online.[78] Within a week of being on the Xbox Live Marketplace, Minecraft sold upwards of 1 million copies.[79] It was announced in December 2012 that Minecraft has sold over 4.48 million copies since the game debuted on Xbox LIVE Arcade in May 2012.[6] In addition, Minecraft: Pocket Edition has reached a figure of 5 million in sales bringing the total sales for Minecraft across all platforms to over 17.5 million
So, if you don't want to bring out BA on the 360 then at least seriously consider making a BA Eastern Front Xbox '720' game. I mean you are actually working on this new BA version anyway and there's a new Xbox out next year, so why not using this as an opportunity? And till that Xbox comes out plenty of time to talk with Microsoft about 'potential issues' :)
