I have sent copy to Justin. We have been talking Strat an should have something together soon after final game. Do not know any details on VB scenario.

Re: GJS'44 - D-Day - Allied paras capture Caen
Ok Jon, but kinda wanted to wait till know what's the deal is with VB. Also, do the axis have any units that are "Off Board" at this time? If so...what are names of units so can make some.

Re: GJS'44 - D-Day - Allied paras capture Caen
Thanks Mike! Am only asking because with Christmas/New Year it's been aaaaaages since we've had any orders in... So Mowby & team might need a little time to figure out their best moves...k9mike wrote:Ok Jon, but kinda wanted to wait till know what's the deal is with VB. No Axis off board units... Just the Allied para BG dissolved from V, and possibly from VB when we know the result... Plus whatever is scheduled to arrive June 8th...

Villers-Bocage
We have less than 10 turns left. I don't remember exactly how many turns there's left as François has not played for a couple of days now. Maybe we could end the battle now as I suspect there won't happen much more. But I need to record the losses and VP.

Can you post the casualties an VPs as of now?? If its going to be an allied loss...we could just end it now an carryover the dissolution penalties an get on with it. Would like to hear something from François on what's up. Have not heard from him via PM or personal email in awhile. Jon???

I control all but Para Brigade HQ, so if I remember correct VPs are 12-5 to the Germans. I know these losses for sure (forgot to record last turn):
British losses: 2xEng, 1xPara, 1xHMG, 2xFT, 2xMortar, 2xPiat
German losses: 1xInf

Guys, Here is the Strat map I made up. I left off 5/6 from VB do to the fact that it will get dissolved no matter what the outcome. So, here it is for your strat use...

P-A/François,GJS'44 Rules & Regs wrote:7.64 Negotiated ceasefire. A player may propose a ceasefire to his opponent at any time before "5 turns remaining" shows. The two players may then negotiate a conclusion to their battle, over factors including which BG wins the sector, which BGs withdraw to which adjacent sectors and whether any BG is dissolved. During a negotiated ceasefire, a losing BG may be dissolved, ie. removed from the Strat Map, with or without additional loss penalties applied, if both players agree to this. Once agreement has been reached, the terms of the ceasefire should be communicated to that day's GM, who will confirm whether they are permissible. Battle resumes if agreement cannot be reached or is not permissible.
Would be happy for you guys to negotiate an early ceasefire to Villers-Bocage, if you're having trouble getting time to complete... From the sounds of it, François might bite your arm off, P-A, to have his para BG dissolved without suffering the extra dissolution penalties (see 7.64 above)... But I leave such negotiations to you and your commanders, Jcb and Mowby...

Re: GJS'44 - D-Day - Allied paras capture Caen
Gentlemen,
It feels like the GJS'44 campaign front quietened down with our Generals away over Christmas/New Year...
Much merriment, family distractions, and alcohol, no doubt?
To help out me and our team commanders, PLEASE WOULD ALL PLAYERS CONFIRM THAT YOU'RE STILL ACTIVE for 2013.
If you're not involved in GJS'44 yet, but you'd like to give it a shot, now is the time to shout up too... Post here.
Warning: you have to be a pretty good at MP, and enjoy time to submit at least one turn every 24 hours, on average.
As soon as Villers-Bocage reports, it's time for teams to brainstorm and submit new orders for June 8th...
Happy new year all!

We've played another turn and I've asked François if he finds it worth playing the game further. Here's a screen showing the losses:

We have now agreed to end the game. As reported earlier the Germans won 12-5 VPs. Casualties can be seen in the screenshot above.

Re: GJS'44 - D-Day - Allied paras capture Caen
Thanks guys! Before either of you clicks Surrender... What did you decide on dissolution for the paras? They've got no friendly sector to withdraw to, so they have to be dissolved... I'm wondering if you negotiated a "New Year" gesture of dissolution without penalties... Or if it's war dammit, lol... Let me know and I'll update the OOB...cavehobbit wrote:Villers-Bocage

We've not discussed this, but for my part it's ok with dissolution without penalties. Enough penalties were given during the battleGottaLove88s wrote:Thanks guys!
