+ POA for mtd v MF in the open( except El/SCh)
I would have thought on reading the MF description that the MF would, could closeup and thus would not be worried in the open by at least LH?

In a recent game i left my flank open because I had some undrilled troops that could not stop marauding LH.hammy wrote:This POA is only at impact, not in melee and also against LH you have to remember that the LH only get 1/2 as many dice against non fragmented non lights. MF have almost nothing to fear from being charged by unsupported LH.
Then the LH rode up to shoot my Heerban Mob and a troop commander defending the camp.
The Heerban charged the LH who having their own Troop Commander decided to meet the charge.
The Heerban got mildly lucky and slaughtered the LH.
Now I am sure their is some rule we overlooked on mob being even worse. But it was fun. Definiately don't want LH to melee the front of decent MF.
Most mob are essentially unprotected MF with no capabilities. The problem is that most light horse have no melee capabilities and having half dice and being overlapped is well.... bad.
Personally I have no problem with mob, if they win they will only do so by weight of numbers.
In my last game of FoG I took out a BG of arnoured hoplites with two BG's of mob. One of the mob BGs' got past the flank of the hoplites and eventually managed to turn and charge them in the flank. Once this happened the other BG could hit the disrupted (could have been fragmented) hoplites in the front. It was 24 bases of average mob against 8 or hoplites with no support though.
