Game not registered?

I have the game registered on Matrix's site. I can log in to the Forums (obviously). However, I cannot edit my information as everytime I do, there is NO edit button on the page and if I put in my existing user name it says it is already in use (duh). So why is the game telling me it is not registered when it is and why can't I change any of my data in my profile?

Have you tried changing it through My Page?
You need to go the Shop Area (EDIT or Main Page by clicking Slitherine top left)of this forum
Login in, and click My Page link under Login.
Then click on My Page you should get below with Edit Info button and below that is a button to manage serials - so you can see if they have been registered.

That's what I mean, There is no Edit button when I go there. It acts like I do not have an account at all. Yet I can log into the Forum?

To make this even more odd is that I CAN login to the server for War in the East with my Slitherine ID and PW. So why does Battle Academy not work with loging in?

Tis sounds VERY similar to the problem I'm having. I am able to Log In here and post- but I don't appear to have a "My Page" and if I go to Edit Account Settings- I get a totally blank "Sign Up" page????

It does seem odd and note the fact you can logon for the War in the east Server, and I'm sorry I cant really be of any further assistance.

I have replied to Ian as below on a separate thread having just done few experiments my self

I believe the forum and shop logins are separate but linked some how. Meaning even if you are logged in the forum, when you then go to the shop you are not necessarily logged in so won't see "My Page".

Sorry if you have done this already but have you definitely gone to the Shop page (EDIT or Click Slitherine at top left to get to Main Page) and logged in, because if you have then "My Page" link should appear under "logon"

I have found in the past that that unless I log in on the Shop area (EDIT or Click Slitherine at top left to get to Main Page)first so I can see "My Page" when I then go back to the forum Edit Account Settings in the forum these remain blank.

If that does not fix it then its a possibly server thing the Slitherine guys will have to look at.

Well that is REALLY seriously screwed up. The suggestion above worked amazingly enough

So loggining into the forum is not good enough for Slitherine. Oh No. You have to log into the stupid store too in order for the system to regonized, you know, that it is REALLY you Cannot have to much security around these forums so people can change passwords at will

While I am wasting my time posting this, I might as well add a rant about another stupid 'feature'. I bought Battle Academy (the reason of my OP) through Matrix Games and registered it there. On Matrix's site. But once again that is not good enough for Slitherine. Just because you have a valid serial number and everything does not mean anything to them unless you register the stupid game on THEIR site too. Really? Of course NO ONE tells you any of this. This is the reason why I could not get BA to work in MP all this time. Just because I did not register it here too. Amazingly stupid.

If you are going to sell your goods though another company's sites AND allow you to register your games through them, then you should be able to transfer that registeration to your site. or at least FING TELL SOMEONE that you have to register the game on your site too. In case you did not get the message, this is VERY sloppy business pratice. If you want to get bigger, then you better tget things like this sorted out. Because I am NOT buying another game from you until it does. I KNOW this cost you a sale becasue I was going to play a MP game with a friend and when he saw the trouble I had, decided that the game was not worth the effort he would need to go through to get it to work. And I agreed with him. I wish I had not bought the game either now. I was even thinking about buying it for my iPad too. Guess what, not any more.

What REALLY makes this so bad imho is that you obviously can do this because my WitE is registered on Matrix's site and I can login to your WitE server just fine without having to register that game here too. Is BA really that special you need it registered twice?

If you can use your login to correctly login to the WitE PBEM server (which is what I think you are saying) but cannot do so for the BA PBEM server then that is very odd. Is that what is happening? The original post talks about issues with the account administration, rather than the game login. Registering the game can be done in a multitude of ways, including it happening automatically when you login to MP for the first time, or using the button on the launcher, so it might be useful to let me know exactly what the issues you were seeing where. It's important to note that registering the game with Matrix is pretty much just storing away the serial so you can retrieve it. Registering it for PBEM is simply connecting the game serial to your login.

The more information you can give me on what exactly the issues were you faced, the better we can fix them.

Thanks for responding. Here is the sequence of events that occured so hopefully this will help determine where your issues are.

1. Bought BA from Matrix's site and registered the game on Matrix's site
2. Could not get BA to work in MP so gave up until a friend expressed an interest in trying the game out.
3. Could not log on to the BA server. Said 'Game not registered'
4. Went to Matrix's site to see what was wrong (since I regestered there). My game list clearly showed my game as registered with the correct serial number.
5. Came to Slitherine's site to see what information I could fine about this issue.
6. Tried to change my PW on Sliterine's site as I wanted to make sure my PW was not the issue with not being able to log into the BA server. So requested a new PW change (big mistake in hindsight).
7. Got the new PW by email
8. Could log into the forum just fine with the reset PW.
9. Could not get my profile page to show the edit button after login into the forum. No matter how many times I tried. Reset my PW several more times along the way.
10. Finally found a thread that suggested that I SEPERATELY log into the store and THAT will FINALLY allow the edit button to appear on my profile page. As noted about, this (stupid trick) amazingly worked so now I could FINALLY change my PW to something more normalized
11. Still cannot login to the BA server
12. Try loging onto the Slitherine server using WitE (using my new PW). All works good and can see and accept games as normal
13. Still cannot login to the BA server
14. After several hours of the above, finally decide to click on the Register Button on the BA launcher. Saw absoultly NO reason to do this before as the damn game WAS already registered before on Matrix's site. After all if WitE works fine with a Matrix ONLY registeration, why should not BA, right?
15.To my amazement (and horror), for what whatever bonehead reason, Slitherine requires BA to be registered on thier site in order for MP to work with BA. So registering on Matrix's site was a total waste of time. Of course God knows, for MP to work, you may have to be registered on BOTH sites for all of this to work.
16. MP now works JUST LIKE WitE after this Slitherine registeration

Wasting hours on the above just to get a game feature that I purchased AND registered is not the way to keep customers long term. Until your business process grow up, I have no interest in supporting your company. I'm sorry, but if the services you provide are not documentated OR easy, there is no reason to come here. To continue to do so will just allow these issue to continue on and never get fixed. And fixed they need to be.

I spent the time detailing the order that things occured from a users point of view so you could have a CLEAR idea of what I went through to get my issue finally resolved. This is so you can have the information to understand that my posts in this thread are not just another rant about random issues. And hopefully, maybe, just maybe, you can get this fixed on a larger scale so no one else has to go through what I did.

The game should have automatically registered itself to your username the first time you logged in with a valid Slitherine login and password. I will check with our server team why this did not happen.
