Very weird. I moved onto another multi-player game and made my move there OK. I then exited the game completely, went back in and tried the crashed game again - and it worked!

We've seen this with a few mp crashes. Anyone suffering one should try quitting the game completely and reloading their mp game as the first thing they do in a new instance of CTGW.
