New Windows Notepads

Post by k9mike »

Will BA work(like the PC windows version) on the newer Windows notepads?? Dell has a XPS 10 Tablet? It works on something call Windows RT..There is also a Latitude 10 which is "Full" windows 8/all windows compatibale. I know this one will work...but, it is like 650 bucks..
Just wondering. Not into iPad and would rather have something like this and wanted to know if it would work.

Mike: Windows RT is not technically Windows,...in the sense that you can NOT run any typical Windows applications.

The apps that do run under Windows RT are developed specifically to run on Windows RT.
So to answer your question: No Battle Academy will not run under Windows 8 version RT

The Surface Pro (as well as what other vendors will create) WILL run a full blown version of Windows 8 and will run any Windows application, including Battle Academy.
Problem is,....the Surface Pro will sell for $899,..and the Keyboard/Cover will be another $100

The Surface RT,..sells for $399

In my honest opinion,..I think Microsoft shot themselves in the foot on these price plans!!!
I think Microsoft should have sold the Surface RT for $199 (sure take a loss,...but you get these in people's hands!!!)
I would have brought two Surface RTs at $199
The Surface Pro should sell at $499. Again,..I'd be the first in line! (again, take a loss,..and get these in people's hands)
I work in the Software Tech industry, and work with tons of Geeky-Toys-type of people. No one I know has brought the Surface RT.

I picked up the Nexus 7 and it is incredibly cool!!!! and it's only $199
Yes, it's Android OS,..but they've come a long way!
Once solid games are created for Android,....I think Windows will be a thing of the past.
I say that even though I'm a big Microsoft proponent,..at least I think I am,..I'm starting to get pulled away towards other vendors now.

Thanks John. Appreciate the comments. I was also thinking of getting a Nexus 7. It is very similar to my phone, but bigger...lol. Just wish that BA would make the jump and get on board with Android. Its BIG and its not going anywhere...Tons more money to be made through Android market to...;) So, sick of all this iPad crap.

Agree with everything you said. You'll love the Nexus 7.
Watching Netflix on it is really very cool!!!

I did a search for laptops on Amazon recently.
The majority of laptops were priced between $400-$800
However the Apple Laptops were in the $1,500 price range!!!
I will never buy anything from that fruit vendor.
