Some more issues . . .

Post by stockwellpete »

Just finished a game against the AI on "balanced" as Central Powers. A number of things happened that may need looking at . . .

i) Italy requested surrender and I said OK. On the next turn, in the "events" screen it said "Italy joins the Entente" not "Italy has surrendered". It had surrendered though.

ii) My German tank unit was able to enter mountain hexes (Carpathians near Iasi).

iii) Concerning Russia, it went straight to the October revolution missing out the February revolutionalt ogether, but the caption said the Tsar was overthrown by the Bolsheviks. He wasn't though in real life - he was overthrown in February by mass protests against the war and starvation.

iv) I defeated Italy with Austrian and Bulgarian troops, not German. I conquered all of Italy except Sicily and Italian units continued fighting. I then sent a German garrison unit to Italy to hold Rome and I got the "German troops in Italy" caption as it crossed the border, which says the Italian government requests help from its allies. This seemed a bit incongrous as Italy was already well-beaten and surrendered shortly afterwards.

iv) I decided to stop playing in October 1917. The Entente consisted of Britain, Portugal and Arabia. I think well before this (Rumania was the last country I defeated) the Entente would have sued for peace. In addition, France fought on until the last city was lost and Italian troops fought on in France even after Rome had been captured. I think France and Italy would have sued for peace much earlier than this and it would probably have brought an end to the war.

Yea, same thing (except the Italy switch thing) for me. I kept going and went after the British. The Austrian navy stopped the Med convoy. And then I disbanded a bunch of units and built bombers and Zepplins and started taking out British productive capacity within range. Eventually BG sued for peace.

just stay for a more couple of turns and france ill surrender, for me it was the same.
They didnt have any city in europe, and after 3 turns after the romanian surrendered the france laos surrendered, when i allied is surrendering the other allies recive a moral penality.
I finished with central powers in august 1917 ultimate victory.
I was not oblige to invade britain, i destroy every convoy for around 6-8 turns, and i beat them in the middle east.
i was on balanced ai.
Still i want from the developers the event list of the game and the detailed morale loss.
After all this is a strategy game and we must now.
