Game save location (Single player)

Post by Lagedor »

Hi

Is there any way to change the location that BA uses to save its Campaign games?

By default (on Windows 7) this is in the user's Documents\My Games\BBCBA folder. What I'd like to do is change this so that BA saves all its data to a folder in my Dropbox folder so that my games are synchronised between my desktop and laptop computers.

There was a post a while back about syncing Mac/iPad games but I don't want anything as complex as cross-platform syncing, just to share my campaign progress between two Windows 7 machines.

I guess I could do it by manually copying the save game folder to/from Dropbox but it would be nice to have it happening automagically!

There isn't a way to change the folder it saves to unfortunately. But you can use a symbolic link to achieve the same thing via Dropbox. Simply google "dropbox symbolic link" and there are plenty of tutorials to enable you to sync up your saves in the way you want :)

Cheers

All done and synced using instructions on http://dotmonster.co/backup-and-sync-fo ... lic-links/.

Wish I'd realised my whole My Games\BBCBA was about 1Gb though - took a while and ruined my son's XBox360 ping responses for the whole evening :) Possibly I should just have done the My Games\BBCBA\Saves folder

Thanks again Pip - not only support for BA but also Dropbox functionality!

Heh - no problems. I'm guessing you have some of the bigger WW1 campaigns and so on in there! :)

Cheers
