German Battles - other than VB and V.
Apologies kingt, but due to team circumstances we need to review the assignment of the Caen battles and associated BGs. Please cancel/postpone any ongoing Caen battle if indeed it is underway.
Mac, please amend the German command of Caen as being unassigned at this time.
Thanks.

Alex has confirmed that a game round has not been started.
Once reassigned, I will advise as to the new, on ground, commander.

Al
Allies now have KingT, Random27, Jcb989 & iProp... that's quite a formidable line up.
I suspect Axis could use some experienced firepower to add to the team?
Wish Gort would come back and join you guys.
Good luck gentlemen...
As Al writes, I'm interested in joining if there's need for a new player. I might not be as experienced as Al mention, but I'll do my best
Cheers,

GL88 GETS A HOLIDAY
Guys,
GL88 GETS A HOLIDAY!
It's great to have everyone on board with battles being fiercely pursued. Mac is proving to be an awesome GM, so I totally feel surplus to requirements (most happily, I should add
).
The good news for everyone is that I will be on hols and intermittently away from gaming for the next two weeks. That means I might access occasionally, but with a few long haul flights and some trekking in here and there, I won't be able to maintain my usual standards.
Mac is taking over as solo GM until I get back, when we'll work on this thing together again. Mac will look after the Strat Map, will confirm the battle results from whoever reports them, and he'll update the Orders of Battle. Anything you need to know on Rules or Conflicts, Mac's your man.
I'll free up a couple of hours to create the scenarios for your second wave of June 7th battles, once Mac lets me know who is fighting who and where. Believe me, I'll be doing well if I manage to stay offline for that long, and I'll probably be watching you guys from the beach anyhow, lol.
Happy hunting gentlemen… Hasta la vista, muchachos!

NB. Latest OOB here -> http://bit.ly/BA88gjs44oob (not yet updated for any June 7th battles)

Re: GJS'44 - D-Day - 6th airborne defend Villers-Bocage
Enjoy the holiday and have Internet-less fun whenever possible!
As for us, we'll be right here on the beaches and in the fox holes. While it may seem like a two-week vacation for you, it'll be just a one-day battle here in cloudy Normandy for the rest of us.

Hi Mac - we need to spread the gaming load (game life balance).
I will advise on the new commander shortly. Cheers.

Interesting turn of phrase tho! You're right. Maybe we should have a "GM team" and show these rookies how it's really done?
Email/PM if anything needed and will get back to you within max 3 days...
I hear the sound of the ocean... Or is it a Nebelwerfer gunning its engine?

Re: GJS'44 - D-Day - Paras battle in Vimont and Villers-Boca
I am playing the V1.2 Vimont map as the Axis - I noticed a Allied engineer half-in, half-out of a building (12 o'clock from the reinforcement point). I would suspect that this is an error. I am playing via an iPad.
Apologies, should have taken a screen dump.

Re: GJS'44 - D-Day - Paras battle in Vimont and Villers-Boca
Thx Gilles, Pls take a screenshot and post here, so everybody knows where it is. The trick is always to run your cursor over a square to check the cover% before moving. Buildings should by 63%. But, for some weird reason, some "French House 4"s don't take, so they're 13% cover and vehicles can drive in. Now I know what to look for, I catch most of 'em, but every now and then, one slips past. Sorry about that. Will fix en route... and have repaired for your next upload...leci wrote:I am playing the V1.2 Vimont map as the Axis - I noticed a Allied engineer half-in, half-out of a building (12 o'clock from the reinforcement point). No worries... Mac & I found a couple of FrenchHouse4's in Vimont playtesting, so we've fixed 'em... I suspect that should pick up what you're seeing, in the next upload...leci wrote:Oops, screen dump, opportunity lost. I will remember if it occurs again.
You don't want to know the result of our game tho... Germans won, but it was painful, mighty painful... Much more so than I expected...

Two Jedi masters playing each other? No doubt the universe rocked and stars collapsed ......and life as we know it, no longer exists....
