Alasdair,
To get a result in that time I suspect it may be a cavalry fest.
Should be fast and bloody.

Cheers Everybody
16 entries, 10 lists as confirmation only 8 places left, though when we've filled those up will measure the hall up and see if we can squeeze in another couple of tables
Thanks

Hi everyone
now for your historical expertise, we need first to 3rd prizes and last prize these are based on generals in the period, so Who do you think is the most successful general in the period Early Turkish Expansion 1494-1566 2nd and 3rd and by far the most important who was the worst, let us know then I can create the prizes (well certificates anyway)
cheers
Alasdair

Alasdair
Not my period but according to Oman, Sultan Bajazet II is clearly the worst...
most successful has to be Sultan Selim II - conquered Armenia, Iraq, Syria, and Egypt.
second is Suliman I, who we know as Suleiman the Magnificent - winner of Mohacs, of 3 wars in Persia, and in the Med, Indian Ocean, and North Africa. He also laid siege to Vienna, Rhodes and Malta.
third is probably Khair ed-Din Barbarossa, known as Redbeard. A pirate but with large conquests in the Med.
