trouble with PBEM v1.04

I started a game as axis, played my turn and then send the game file to my opponent. My opponent played his turn as allied and sends me the game file back. When I try to load the game, I get an error message "cannot load game since it was saved from a previous version"

we are both using 1.04, what are we doing wrong?

It sounds like your opponent has a different version number to you Or he has sent you the wrong file and it is from an earlier version. We've never had this problem with 2 correctly updated versions so far, so I think this is unlikely to be a bug.

After multiple investigation and test, I was finally able to discover what I was doing wrong: in the menu, I was doing "load game" instead of "load multiplayer game".

So the error was really on my side, wrong action in the main menu. However, it could be usefull for the game to know when a save game is a single or multiplayer game and adjust the error message to reflect this.

Instead of getting "saved game is from an earlier version", It would have been helpful to get "this save game is for a multiplayer game" instead.
