Divisional moves

Post by ravenflight »

Hi all

I had a game yesterday and my opponent moved a 'division' of one BG of horse for a second and then third move. I picked him up on his second move starting within 1 base of another division.

We read the rules and he agreed, but thought that it wasn't neccessarily correct and to check the forum.

Since he 'started his first move' outside of a base is he ok to go within a base?

My reading is 'yes, so long as each subsequent second and third move starts more than 1 base away.
His reading is 'yes, and it doesn't matter if it starts a second or third move as the first move is the 'start of his move''.

He wasn't hardline about it - we agreed that I was probably correct, but just want clarrification.

Your interpretation would be correct if you were talking about a division. (But you aren't - see below).

Correct for Divisional moves, but a single BG is not a Division so the proximity of other friendly BGs at any time is immaterial.

So 3 BG's shoulder to shoulder can march move as a block so long as they have 3 generals?

They don't actually move as a block, they move as 3 individual BG's and you must remember to move each individually and finish it's move first including any complex moves on the first move and that no BG can go within 6" of an enemy BG or camp.

Generally this is how Warriors move as they are not allowed to do Divisional moves.
