Panzer Corp Suddenly nonresponsive

Post by curio »

Hello,

I downloaded "Panzer Corp" and everything was fine. However, over the last week a problem. When I begin a new game and I try to move a unit nothing happens. Say for example I move a tank unit, well the line that shows the path appears but when I click my mouse the unit no longer moves to the chosen location. Same thing if I try to attack, I get the cross hair over the target, but when I mouse click the unit will no longer attack! Any ideas would be helpful.

thanks

Hi, welcome.
Could you please try to rename, in Panzer Corps main folder, the "Audio" subfolder to "_Audio"?
Start the game and check if there's any improvement.

Seems like I have the same problem. The Demo seemed shaky, having to click on units multiple times to activate, trouble displaying available moves, targeting, clipping of map when moving cursor to edges (such as overlapping map image on top edge especially). I thought it might be just the Demo giving me problems so I went ahead and ordered Panzer Corps because I loved original PG so much. Very disappointed to find the same problems. Clicking on the mini-map to move around helped some. Changed Settings to 2 mouse buttons but that didn't help much. First turn (5th Tutorial) got target from artillery to show on tank but wouldn't fire on repeated attempts (all units show green move and red fire indicators). Saw this post reply and changed "Audio" file to "_Audio" as suggested above but didn't help. That was after I checked for an update on my drive card (nvidia GeForce GT 430; OS is Windows Vista; full screen 1440x900). Driver is current, no update available. I have no problem with other new games. Looks like Panzer Corps that I downloaded is version 1.0.0.0. Just read that there is an update 1.11. I'll try to find and update it. Game is unplayable as is

I installed the update 1.10 and have the same problems. First move on turn after deployment (5th Tutorial): artillery won't fire or move. Tank in front of it won't move. I get possible paths but no movement. Ghosts of movement option white lines when moving cursor around. Zooming in and out with Page Up, Page Down, doesn't work half the time. Still unplayable.

Please check your ingame settings and look for mouse interface. There are two types of mouse interface.

Hello,

I tried both renaming the audio folder to _audio AND double checking my mouse setting. I have a two button mouse and I checked two buttons in settings, still no effect. Could it be due to a Windows update? bc the game worked fine when I originally installed it? I have Windows 7.

You should change to 1-button setting, that's the way you want to play.

Found the solution! curio, you might try this also: changed view from Full Screen to Windowed. Like magic! Everything works beautifully. Really enjoyed the game after the fix.
