As i understand it..
[8.22 New German BGs arrive in Villers Bocage or Vimont fully supplied for one day.]
So the Airborne units will benefit from the new rule coming into effect on the 7th while the 21Pz would be the same either way...so it's certainly beneficial for the Allies to get this implemented on the 7th.

Ok, I think I get you now...kingt wrote:At 100/75 Infantry/Armor they're stronger than at 75/75 and can afford making some mistakes, that's what I'm saying.
Let's put it this way, if we had known about the coming bump in infantry morale on June 7 (which I argued in favor of since before fighting started), maybe we wouldn't have paradropped in V and VG to begin with.
Germans absolutely can't make mistakes versus infantry, so V and VB work out better for Allies now. Much better. Heck, you have significantly more units that will benefit in each serial one-on-one there...
But essentially, i believe that you're saying that the purpose of the V and VB strategy was to win one turn (June 7th) to steamroller the enemy infantry on the three landing beaches... Thinking about it, at morale 75, it's pretty much one shot and the infantry would be suppressed... You'd have to be close enough to take the kill, which you might be sometimes... Although bunkers would prevent surrender at zero...
The problem I face is that we did this via a fair vote where 3/6 Allies voted... So let's fix it this way... Discuss with Brummbar and come back to me with a proposal if you believe that the voting has significantly disadvantaged you to the point it wouldn't be fair or fun... No promises, but if it's reasonable, I'll consider it...

Forgot about that one, yes. But still, 100 morale for infantry across the board on June 7 is a lot better than 75.Brummbar44 wrote:As i understand it..

Yes, something like that. Plus they won't be in a position to counterattack successfully. I don't want to say too much here,GottaLove88s wrote:.

Yup, I saw the results, we didn't talk about it beforehand, and I have no problem playing against German infantry at 100. So really no issues there. But the new rules affect the pre-battle tactical phase and the way commanders order their BGs around on June 7.The problem I face is that we did this via a fair vote where 3/6 Allies voted... Re: GJS'44 - D-Day - Jcb989 breaks out from Sword
My Airborne troops are highly motivated and elated with the taking of the German supply lines...they're ready for a fight!
If the Jerry's on the beaches recover themselves, we can live with that...by my reckoning, there are 28 less units that will benefit by that boost! (thanks largely by the efforts of our boys on the beaches!)

Re: GJS'44 - D-Day - Jcb989 breaks out from Sword
I was on a travel day yesterday and didn't vote.
I would have voted for stronger infantry, I think.
But I am undecided on the June 7th / June 9th without a recap of the
currently boiled-down trade offs and the motivation for creating the revision.
Lastly, out of curiousity, is there a rule book being maintained, too, somewhere?
Or just reading from inside the original post. I know you update it, Jon.
Anyway, I'm ready for my next assignment whatever it is. =)

Quick links are all at the top of this thread -> viewtopic.php?f=87&t=38844&p=363656#p363505
From there, you can always jump to the latest maps/recon screenshots, orders of battle, last orders & resulting battles, who is on which teams & their time zones, and latest rules & regs.
Rules and regs are a "living document" which I keep updated when something needs to be corrected or clarified, or if we all agree to change something important, like rule 4.33. But they're always worth checking when you want to figure out how (or if you're allowed) to do something... If you feel anything is not clear or is missing, let me know, and I'll add it (or I'll add a better explanation

Coyote ops are not sure whether to turn up in a M36 or fast forward to the the 21st century, in a C130 Spectre......

In essense of good gaming...I have negotiated a ceasefire with Random on the Juno Map. This way the game can proceed along and not get dragged back several more days...with a similar outcome that happened on Morges Beach. The score was 9-8 losses...I will withdraw to Taileville and Random Takes Juno.

Thanks Mike, that's sporting of you and I know the guys really appreciate it. You've often suffered as the one chomping at the bit when you've missed out on turns while your BGs have been resting, so you, more than anybody, really deserved a good game. Thank you for doing this... I hope you nail some extra bad guys today!k9mike wrote:In essense of good gaming...I have negotiated a ceasefire with Random on the Juno Map. Random, Pls confirm your agreement? If agreed, I confirm that GM approves the conditional surrender of II/736/716, with withdrawal to Tailleville; 7/3cdn takes Juno. Neither side is dissolved. (Negotiated ceasefire under Rule 7.64)
I will record the KIAs below...

Re: GJS'44 - D-Day - Jcb989 breaks out from Sword
The map does not show II/736/716 in the correct position i.e. in the Tailleville sector..... Not a critique of the map - which is superb.
