Re: Warfare 2012
Hi Dave
I have run the Parthians before.
Won with them at the Milton Keynes teams, mainly against other Parthians.
Didn't do as well in period with them at Warfare a couple of years back.
I am running a different version of them this time so will see if my grand plans are flawed or not.

LOL
That's it, make your enemy lose his temper so that he makes mistakes facing you across the table.
I just don't know how many mistakes you need me to make..............
................. LOTS !!

Warfare - Parking
As for the past few years, parking at the Rivermead is Pay and Display. IIRC (which I might not...) it is £5 all day on Saturday, and £2 or £3 on Sunday. The machines only accept coins, not notes (unless they have upgraded them since last year!)
You can reclaim *half* of this parking charge from the Rivermead centre reception but only on the same day as the parking (i.e. you can't get Saturday's parking charge half-refunded on Sunday). You will need to show the staff on Reception your parking receipt and your entry badge so that they know you are with the show.
Cheers,
Tim

Re: Warfare 2012
Unfortunately, Ian Carbutt has had to dro out of the 15mm Augustus to Augustulus competition, as one of his children has had to go to hospital! Best wishes to them.
From Warfare's p.o.v., however, it means that we are a man down and have a potential bye somewhere. If anyone is free this weekend, and can bring themselves and an 800pt army that fits the theme (see http://www.wargamesassociationreading.c ... .-5070.pdf) to the Rivermead centre by no later than 9am tomorrow, you may well get a place in the competition!
Yours,
Tim Child

Re: Warfare 2012
Thanks to the organisers and competitors for a great weekend.
I feel very relieved that my Parthian choice wasn't flawed.
Thanks to my very sporting opponents:
Dave Saunders - a crazy game with crazy dice, you deserved more from the game after my early setbacks but the dice finally came good.
Nick Standen - I was very relieved when the much anticipated elephants did not appear in your army. Against me the result would then have been very much different.
Eric Doman - a very close game and the result reflected it. We pretty much countered each others moves for 3 hours.
Wayne Dare - the only game I wanted to win initiative in as you only needed a draw and I couldn't afford to let you hide in terrain. My dice finally came good not only with me winning initiative but also with none of your compulsory pieces ending up on the table. My dice in the game itself were also definately better than yours. The smaller table ensured I could get my cataphracts into your foot quite quickly.
See you all again soon.

Re: Warfare 2012
Well done Steve in the 25 mm Competition coming second and stopping Pete from getting a clean sweep of 25 - 0 results.
I was totally disappointed with my Sunday games following good wins on Saturday against Steve and Richard.
Thanks to all my opponents for great games especially Dino whose dice came right against me.

to dave saunders, thanks dave, as you know i am not a club payer and only play about four competitions per year so it was my best result by a wide margin.
to dave r, not quite sure what you mean by opinion is divided, i presume you mean i was just really lucky. for the record in my non expert opinion i think i played quite well.
