First game couple queries

Post by sgt.steinerbtinternet.com »

Hi

Had game today and couple of queries arose for which clarification sought

1. If a unit Fails a CMT for Movement is it unable to move at all ? we couldn't see this being allowed in FOGN unlike FOGA/FOGR which allow Simple Advances/Moves

2. If yes to 1 can it invoke the 1MU minimum move ? found this rather confusing as Artillery that failed its CMT to prolong 2MU seems by this rule to still be able to move 1MU !

Cheers

Question 1:
Page 46, Points to Note on the CMT - 2nd bullet: "If a unit or Brigade Group fails its CMT, it can still make a simple move. So, a simple move is allowed if a unit fails its CMT.

Question 2:
A prolong move is a "complex move", not a simple move. So, artillery needs a successful CMT to prolong. The 1 MU minimum is a minimum movement rate not a rule that overrides the need for a CMT. It applies to simple moves (i.e., no CMT required) or, if the CMT is successful, to complex moves. So, you can't prolong by 1 MU if you fail the CMT to prolong.
