Defensive Spear under V2

I'm wondering how defensive spearmen go under V2? Pretty much the same as V1? I imagine they are a little better if just because of maneouver.

IMO worse as they didn't like charging bow before. Now they are going to hate it. MF bow will be able to happily march up to them. Shoot them to bits. Wait for the charge and be hugely better off than the spear at impact. 50% more dice and, in most circumstances, all of them hitting on 4's.

Its a shame they missed a chance to give Def Sp a tie breaker like Lt Sp for Cavalry. Would cure their blues charging against bows for example.

I had a discussion about this with Nik, IIRC. Def Spear are such because they really didn't like charging. A tie breaker would give them a plus against a bow mounted, or even them up if charging Lt Sp armed mounted. Though they may not have thought about the huge impact of the extra bow POA at impact.
But they get to be even if charging other Defensive spear which seems a bit odd.
