Warfare ... what next
So, with this 5-6 weeks away.. what to use?
I'm predicting Japs, Ottomans ,Swedes and few scrofulus Nomad types (with maybe 2 Ming) from my reconnaissance ...
what beats all this... ? should I paint up somehting else. I'm bored with the Spanish now.. given the dates later tercios are a bit drole.

Re: Warfare ... what next
My Reconnaissance says there'll be at least 2 Qing Chinese - same as Ming but with better cavalry and no need for Light Guns!!
My quandary is the same as yours.
The difference is that between now and Warfare you have the time and ability to paint a new army; I have the time and ability to paint a new unit!!!!

Don,
Don
Am I missing something here, but this would mean no artillery at all, due to the date restriction.same as Ming but with better cavalry and no need for Light Guns!!

Thought the end date was 1628 not 1629 so in by one yearHow do you figure that? Artillery is permitted from 1628.

Funny you should bring that site up I spent a lot of yesterday looking at researching the Pirate king Murakami Takeyoshi, as considering Samaurai as my one FOG R 28mm army, so far managed to resist the temptation but am weakeninglist_lurker wrote:what do you think ?... could I paint a Jap army in time?

Personally, I admit to succumbing to the dark side, but as yet can't stomach the Scrofulus Tatars. Especially after their song and dance routine at "Derby".

Instead I've gone with Later Imperial Austrian as an almost respectable cheesey army.

My army isn't at all cheesy.
However it does have a definite whiff of bacon about it....

I know those Renaissance types were keen to use knowledge from the classical writers so I was a bit worried we were about to see flaming pigs once againHowever it does have a definite whiff of bacon about it....

Re: Warfare ... what next
Hi ,
Unfortunately, I've had some bad news, and a close family member has been taken critically ill. Consequently I've had to cancel my attendance to Warfare.
So, if anyone didn't make their entry in time, please drop Tim a line ( there is a paid up entry that is available)
Also, all the 9 year war figures are all here, but I haven't had chance to upload any of it to the website. If you are desperate ( Christamas/Godentag) I can hand crank some orders out ... give me a bit of normality if nothing else!
Sorry for any inconvience caused.
thanks
Simon

Re: Warfare ... what next
Gutted for you Simon - was looking forward to seeing the Mapuche on the table, both from a figure perspective and as some release from unrelenting Cuirassier action for my Samurai!!
Hope all is OK
