Italian heroes - only ground, no air?
As I encountered, Italian heroes have only ground unit pictures and no pictures for pilots. I have several pix of pilots, but I don't know, if in 1.11 they can be inserted to used them only for air?

Did you check the file heroes.pzdat in "data"?
There are columns where you can enter flag (country), branch, and class.
Example:
0 0 -1 ground1.png
...is a German (flag 0) ground (seems branch 0) hero using ground1 as pic. I'm not sure, but the -1 at the end seems to mean he's for all units classes of the specified branch, so here for all ground unit types (needs confirmation).
0 1 -1 air1.png
...is a German air ace, the "1" seems to classify him as air guy. Otoh Italy has:
5 -1 -1 italy_hero1.png
... which seems to follow the pattern of the first example, just with "5" for Italy, a -1 in branch, and a different pic. Maybe -1 for branch means he works for all branches (air, land, sea)? Not sure about this.
But you could just try to copy the German air entry, put it below the Italian ground hereos, change the flag to "5", and the pic to your custom image for Ita air heroes (plus number), which you have to put into the correct folders to the rest.
Not sure if that's all, but could be worth a test run.

Re: Italian heroes - only ground, no air?
Thanks for the info!
Well, I tried to create an Italian airforce section, but the pilots show still the ground forces pictures. I created in that way (it is not the problem, that the names are the same as the German ones because I overwrote it with GME.)
5 1 -1 air1.png
Developers, please, any advice?
By the way, I'm the only one, who are experiencing since the 1.11 that the intro video is left at the start (with or without any mod)?

Do you mean those names of the heroes as name strings or did you change the pics itself?Uhu wrote:(it is not the problem, that the names are the same as the German ones because I overwrote it with GME.)
Because I think "5 1 -1 air1.png" would still refer to the first German air hero, because of the pic name, if you use GME or not. The only way to change this - I think - would either be to change "air1.png" (not the originals of course, but copies you use for your mod) so that it depicts one of your custom Italian guys, or to simply refer to another pic that shows your Italian hero.
If you changed that too and it still doesn't work I'm running our of ideas...
