I don't know about a bug, but I have pondered triple switch units. Never experimented though.

chris10 is doing something similar with infantry in his mod. I think they're called kampfgruppen.

4Key: I can use some help to resolve this issue, please see my other thread... I couldn´t mod a triple-switchable unit in the game v1.10 (I am sure I could do it in v1.05). Maybe you can try and find what the problem is. Someone (don't rememner who) gave me the idea of deleting the "primary" trait, I think is a good idea, will try it.

To be able to entrench infantry an AT guns by switching them is a good way to avoid this units being wiped out by tanks and SPAT when caught in the open, without lowering the Soft Attack values of those last mentioned units to very low values.

Hello all!

Inspired by the Base Icon and Mask I found here of the strongpoint icon, I made one set for the Strongpoint_big icon I added some time ago in the Unit Pack... So here are the files to be downloaded and added to the DCS tool... I add an example of what can result... The "leopard big strongpoint"! This unit would it be called home by me if I lived in a PzCorps Map!! The Leopard skin was downloaded from this forum, where it was uploaded recently.

Use at your discretion!

Hi Guille, I couldn't help but notice a small omission in your otherwise very nice Italians units mod, an omission measuring exactly 20mm  . I had already made the first steps in converting the Breda 20mm AAA to ground mode, I think I will end up making an icon/unit pack of my own if I make enough icons, but for now I'll just post this one here, so you can complete your collection of multipurpose icons.

This one took me a long time to finish, but that's mostly because with the real Breda the sight is on a paralellogram mechanism which moves with the barrel, it might look strange when you 'switch' the unit, but it is in fact quite accurate. But unfortunately also a pain to model, especially for such a little-used unit, but now every 'stock' Italian AAA unit has a switchable icon. I'm not actually finished with this one yet as I have some other plans for it, but for now it's good enough to use in the game, I think.

Indeed, ThvN... I love the work you dedicate to each one of your creations... True, you don't pour lots of icons, but the ones you release are pieces of art... I'm working hard right now, that is the reason for my temporary stop in icon working, but this will resume soon. Thanks for this addition to the pack!!!

Hello to all!
Here is a unit that was requested sometime ago... the AA version of Wehrmacht Heavy Weapons Infantry, with winter camo... Next in this series will be the HW Infantry with desert camo. Those modded icons are based on two files I downloaded from this forum (not my creation, just "transformed" them).

Cheers!

Hello to all!

Here are two more converted icons, which completes the series of Wehrmacht Heavy Weapons AA mode icons... Previously released the AA icons for regular and arctic camo Wehrmacht Inf HW, and now, here are the desert and SS camouflaged versions of the HW Infantry, in AA mode.
Enjoy!

Another infantry-class "multipurpose" icon:

A Soviet DShK 12.7 mm Heavy Machinegun, in Ground combat and AA modes. This icon was made using as a base one downloaded from this forum (I didn't recall its author, so if someone tell me I will put the author's name in credits). I just reduced its size and added a third figure to make the icon more "crowded", I thought it there wasn´t enough room to put two MG teams. So, here you are, available to be used by anyone who want to. I hope you like them!

Cheers!

I really don't see the point in an infantry unit switching to AA.

They never shot down planes in WW2.

They had special AA equipment for it, not tommy guns or heavy machine guns.

Thanks Guille
I had added almost all of these variants (AA to AT/AP) to my equipment file, but I didn't have the icons to match, now I do, thanks again!

Ah, but it happens in movies sometimes. Even with rifles. Check out "Burned by the Sun 2". They shot a Stuka rear gunner as he was hanging his naked ass out the cockpit on a dive and it was shot from the deck of a moving ship.

Razz1: indeed, I did not find a real use for a regular infantry "switched" to AA mode either... I don't intend to add such a unit to the equipment file, not for personal use, nor for release here... This regular infantry in AA mode was a by-product of the transformation I did to the HW Infantry icon (I used the standing figure with rifle). So, after I got the standing soldier firing his rifle upwards, it didn't take much time to elevate the guns of the other two figures, and to release te icon... Maybe someone find it useful for some purpose, that's the reason.

Blindsey: Your welcome! I'm glad you find use to the icons I post here.

Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and more.

Post by guille1434 »

Hello to all!

I was thinking that it is time to release the version 2 of this "Multipurpose Unit Pack", as the quantity of icons is growing, the equipment file is a bit messy (that is, the units are all mixed up, just as they are being added to the last of the file), so I want to give the pack some order, and besides to make it compatible with my favourite mods (Elite Units Pack, GTPG Grand Campaign, and the two new ones from Nikivdd, Italian Afrika Corps and possibly Roma Victor, which I have not checked yet). To give the files some order and "compatibility" would make it possible to other modders to add this pack to their work if they want to, to start some kind of "standarized" equipment file or just give the option to the gamers to use this pack with the mod in question...

The idea is to organize the units as the following:

The second version of this unit pack is meant to be compatible with the following mods/unit packs:

- PzCorps Wehrmacht vanilla game v1.11
- Airbornemongo101 Elite Units Mod 1.10
- Nikivdd Expanded Italian Unit Data for AK v0.1 (Italian Afrika Corps and GTPG Grand Camp mods)

The idea is to release a "standard unit pack" to be used for the mods named above, with a rationalized unit numbers structure in order to be able to easily update the pack in case of addition of new units and maintain compatibility, and also to make it easier to "compatibilize" with other modders work.

The proposed number structure would be:

0000 - 1699: PzCorps unmodded game units

1700 - 1999: Expanded Italian units

2000 - 3999: Elite Units Mod

4001 and up: Multipurpose units pack divided by country:

4001 - 5000: Germany (flag 0)
5001 - 6000: Great Britain (flag 1)
6001 - 7000: USA (flag 2)
7001 - 8000: Soviet Union (flag 3)
8001 - 9000: France (flag 4)
9001 - 10000: Italy (flag 5)
10001 - 11000: Poland (flag 6)
11001 - 12000: Belgium (flag 7)
12001 - 13000: Low Countries (flag 8)
13001 - 14000: - (Unused flag slot 9)
14001 - 15000: - (Unused flag slot 10)
15001 - 16000: Slovakia (flag 11)
16001 - 17000: Luxembourg (flag 12)
17001 - 18000: Hungary (flag 13)
18001 - 19000: Romania (flag 14)
19001 - 20000: Bulgaria (flag 15)
20001 - 21000: Yugoslavia (flag 16)
21001 - 22000: Greece (flag 17)
22001 - 23000: Canada (flag 18)
23001 - 24000: New Zealand (flag 19)
24001 - 25000: Australia (flag 20)
25001 - 26000: Training Germany (flag 21)
26001 - 27000: Germany (flag 22)
27001 - 28000: Norway (flag 23)
28001 - 29000: - (Unused flag slot 24)
29001 - 30000: Free Poland (flag 25)
30001 - 31000: Free France (flag 26)
31001 - 32000: - (Unused flag slot 27)
32001 - 33000: - (Unused flag slot 28)
33001 - 34000: South Africa (flag 29)
34001 - 35000: India (flag 30)

I think some of the free slots could be used for other countries which are not currently represented, but they would be useful in future, like: Japan, Finland, Nationalist/Republican Spain, China.

Each Country Slot would be divided in unit class segments:

x001 - x100: Infantry class (Machine gun units, snipers, special forces) (class 0)
x101 - x200: Tank (class 1)
x201 - x300: Recon (class 2)
x301 - x400: Anti Tank (class 3)
x401 - x500: Artillery (class 4)
x501 - x550: Anti Aircraft (class 5)
x551 - x600: Fortifications (class 6)
x601 - x700: Fighter (class 7)
x701 - x750: Tactical Bomber (class 8)
x751 - x800: Strategic Bomber (class 9)
x801 - x900: Naval Units: Submarine (class 10), Destroyer/Torpedo Boat (class 11) Capital Ships (Battleship, Battlecruiser, Cruisers)(class 12), Carrier (class 13)
x901 - x930: Land Transport (class 14)
x931 - x960: Air transport (class 15)
x961 - x980: Sea Transport (class 16)
x981 - x000: Rail transport (class 17) - Armoured Train (class 18)

So, in the future, the units I will be releasing would be grouped in several versions. For example: for german units, they will be released in a "standard" (or vanilla game grey coloured) look, in a desert colour (for AK) and in the SE and SS camo schemes, as used by the Elite Units mod, so there will be four versions of each multipurpose icon. I will atempt to complete the vanilla game released units (and the icons previously released with this pack) with all those varieties as per the criteria mentioned above, and of course to add new, interesting ones, but always keeping those two issues in mind: Compatibility and order.

So, for the release of the next (v2.0) unit pack, I will wait for the OK of Nikivdd and Airbornemongo101, just in case they want to comment something about this idea of mine...

Meanwhile, I have some new "multiporpose icons" ready for everyone here, just look the following posts... :-)

Cheers!

Ok, so I noticed that the 5 cm Pak 38 and the 7.5 cm Pak 40 shared the same icon in the vanilla game. That is the reason for the release of the 7.5 cm Pak40 "mini-pack"... I it you will find: a "new" icon for the regular (grey coloured) Pak40 gun in AT and Artillery modes, and also the desert coloured gun in AT and Aty modes (made using the Pak38 gun as a base), to complete the set you have also the Aty versions of this icon in SE and SS camo schemes, as released in the Elite Units Mod by Airbornemongo101...

The other file contains the Panzer IIIM with schurtzen, which was previously released in the grey version, so now it comes in AK desert, SE and SS Elite Units Mod camo schemes...

Another round...

In answer to a previous request, here are the multipurpose icons for the StuG IIIF (used for the StuG IIIF/8 version also) and the StuG IIIG.
In each pack (one for thr IIIF and the other for the IIIG) you will find:
An AT and Aty version for the basic grey vehicle, and AT and Aty version for the desert coloured one, and the Aty versions in SE and SS Elite Units Mod camo schemes.

The release of these two icons somewhat completes the previous release of the unit pack. Here you have the icons for the AT versions of the 2 cm Flak 38 and 3.7 cm Flak 37. They are a recolouring of the icons made by ThvN to match the desert versions of said AA guns.

OK,when I get a chance.

The only thing would be to make masks of the switch(ground mode) so they can be camo'd to match the existing camo's.
